Footprints

I'm walking in a lonely desert, with my head hung low, and I am staring at the sand. I see no one next to me or anywhere near me, how I wish someone would hold my hand.
There is no comforting arm around my shoulder and as the sun falls beneath the Earth, I can feel it becoming colder and colder.
A crisp rain is cried from the clouds, they chased away the only warmth I had. I feel so scared, so alone, and so sad.
I notice a single set of footprints in my dreary past. I want to run awau from the lonlieness and I want to do it fast.
So I walk alone though the sand, wishing someone would hold my hand.
The run rises once more, the heat is so unbarable. I can't stand it, so I fall, but before I hit the ground I yell one desperate call.
Someone hears it and catches me in their arms, I look into my rescuers face, I can't help but be taken in by his welcoming charms.
His laugh echoes with power and his smile glistens brighter than the sun, but this wamth is conforting as I look into his gentle face, I no longer wish to run.
He holds out his arm with a caring love and says. "I am here to lead you away from these waves of sand. I am here to lend you a hand."
He helped me to my feet and I thought to myself. "It's him, he's the one I've been dying to meet."
I start to walk on only with pride, but he stops me with a stide.
"Wait," he says. "Let me carry you to your goal." I raise my eyebrow in confusion, "but why?" He replied, "Because you are a very important soul."
He picked me up and walked forward, but I had to ask. "Why didn't you come sooner, was it not your task?"
He smiled, "I was with you the whole time." I remembered the footprints, "but there was only one set of prints. Were that not mine?"
He answered with that wonderful grin of his and started to say. "No, I carried you the whole way."
