[Review]Midori Days/Midori No Hibi
User Image Ah Midori Days, the story about a young juvenile delinquent who's right hand suddenly becomes a girl. Also, the girl has had a crush on him for years. Antics ensue.

Midori Days is a romantic comedy. It, unlike several other anime/manga romantic comedies (I'm looking at you Ichigo 100% and Love Hina), does not have the comedy of "Hey, he's doing something really stupid and women are loving him for it." or "Hey, that guy just walked in on a girl doing something. Now he's getting beat up. Hilarious!" Midori Days is more about character interaction in more plausible (as plausible as it can get in an anime about a guy with a girl on his hand) situations then Ichigo 100%'s "Wow, their relationship is building while they're trapped in that small storage closet".

The characters are extremely varied, and you cannot help but root for each character in their respective trials and tribulations. One cannot help liking (almost) every single character in this series. Plus, they've managed to have characters who aren't unintentionally bitchy. Which is strange for an anime featuring a large amount of females.

Animation is quite good. The sound isn't nerve wracking, but you don't really notice iit either. The only downside to this is that there are only 13 episodes. I would quite enjoy it if it were longer. It would have been nice to get to see a bit more character development, but as it is, it's not too bad. The way it segues into the ending is quite sudden. Other than that, hey, good series.

Midori Days is quite good. I recommend it. However, it does contain the nude bodies of females. If you have an aversion to that or are living with somebody who has an aversion to that, do not watch. If you are fine on that subject, good. You are now capable of enjoying a nice little romantic comedy.

I give it a mrgreen / heart

Hmm...I enjoyed "Love Hina". This sounds like an interesting twist to an old story. I doubt I'll end up watching it anytime soon, though.

I look forward to your next reviews. domokun
