They said i'd never fly high.
They said i'd crash and burn out in the atmosphere
But i know They're wrong.
They dont know that i am closer than they think

My mom always stood by my side.
Through thick and thin and into the night
She said to me with one last breath, "son i believe that you
Will the touch the sky someday
I just wish that i could stay"

'Cause the sun will never go down on my spirit
To avenge my fallen foes.
It may be dangerous to go so far
But im determined to fly high
and that makes my spirit show.

My dad always was scepticle
He told me, "son you need to be more like me"
I said be like some drunken loser, i think not
I have a shot at destiny
He said, "son get your head out of those clouds"

Well those clouds are were I'm goin' and its gonna be soon
I'll leave here empty and in shambles
but i'll come back with the moon
I've got a dream
I want to fly with the astronauts too

I've not foresaken all that i know.
It may be dangerous to go so far
But im determined to fly high
And that makes my spirit grow.

Hold on to your dreams and make them known
take to the skies with whats been shown
it's likely everyone has there own spirit that can conquer all our fears and steal the show.
because it takes a certain amount of living hope
to bring peace to a world caught in the jaws of a lie and pull them from the fire.
this is what we desire.
