I make sure you are gone
My eyes follow your figure
until it vanishes into the night
and then, when I'm sure you are gone
the walls break down
and I start to cry
Why? That's all that goes through my mind.
What was supposed to be three days of bliss
became three days of lonely misery.
I kept thinking of how you cried
and how I couldn't stop the tears
How you had to call your sister for help
and how I wasn't enough for you.
I couldn't comfort you,
not even calm you down.
I curse my uselessness
and soak up my solitude.
i kept wishing I could be with you
wishing you would show up right then
but at the same time
wishing you weren't
so you couldn't see my tears.
I continued to cry in the rain
until I couldn't feel if I was crying
or if that was the rain on my cheeks.
Was I drowning in tears
or bathing in the rain?
I couldn't tell anymore.
My soul felt numb.
