A Poem and a Story
END OF TIME
'Til the end of time I will love you,
I love the feel of your arms around me, holding me tightly,
For the rest of my live I want to be beside you,
Your love keeps me going when we are apart,
'Til the end of time I want to be safe and loved,
Hold me close, kissing me, caressing me through the night,
You sen my soul on fire, and only you can cool me down,
You are like a warm breeze on a cool night, welcome and wanted,
I want to be near you 'til the end of time.

THE GYPSY FESTIVAL

It was a warm spring day in the English country side. In a small villiage outside of London they were getting ready for the Maying Festival. Already a group of traveling gypsies had set up camp at the edge of the woods. They erected tents, botths and platforms for the comping festival. By night there was lots of music, storytelling and this wasn't even the days of the festival yet.

The days before the festival were spent making sure everything was ready and everyone knew what they were suppose to be doing.

The first night of the Maying Festival a group of knights rode into the villiage led by a tall, tan, muscular man with brown hair. They got rooms in the tavern and when they sat eating their dinners one asked the owner "Where have all the people gone?" The tavern master said "They are in the clearing, today is the first night of our Maying Festival. I was just going to join them now." The knights all put down their knives and cups, followed the tavern master to the clearing and were soon caught up in the merryment.

The leader walked by a raised platform just as a puff of smoked blew forth from the stage. A young woman with blond hair, pale white skin and willowy body emerged from the smoke. She was scantily clad in a short vest and skirts cut up to her waist. He stood mezmerized by the glimpses of pale legs that her dress showed as she spun, leaped and kicked. A rythmic drum beat set a fast tempo that made the watcher focus on the woman. The young woman ened the dance by doing a kick and throwing her head and arms back before landing in a split. The knight threw a gold coin on the stage along with the other onlookers, mostly men, and clapped. The young woman collected the coins before bowing and going off stage.

For the next 3 nights the knight would watch the young gypsy maid perform. He would follow her to a fire in a small clearing where she could sit with a few of the villiage men. The men would ne drunk and she and a few other women would have fun with them and shile they were getting dressed the young women would take all their money and valuables. The men then stumbled off not even realizing they had been robbed. The women scurried out of the clearing, giggling to themselves. The brown haired knight followed the woman and when she entered a tent he didn't follow.

The next night when a few new men went to the clearing the brown haired knight followed and joined them. He pretended to drink and a few hours later the same women came in and selected a man. To the luck or unluckiness of the situation, the gypsy woman that had caught his eye sat herself down in his lap. She gave him a smile and said "What can I do for you?" The knight said "I would love to get to know you better," as he caressed her cheek. She laughed, kissed him and placed her arms around his neck. They partied for half the night and when they went to get dressed the brown haired knight dressed quicker than the others and caught the young gypsy stealing his money.

He took hold of her wrist and said "What do you think you are doing?" The gypsy's eyes betrayed her fear. She said "You are suppose to be incoherent, drunk." She looked down at her wrist in his solid grip and said "Let me go, I will give you back your money." The knight said "I will let you have my money, my flower, if you spend the rest of the night with me and only me." The other women who had stopped at his first outburst now walked over to them and one tried to pry his hand off of her wrist with no luck. The knight said "Leave us," as he pulled the young gypsy woman to his chest and wrapped his arms around her waist and shoulders. The young woman's eye pleaded with the women to do as he asked. The woman looked wary but they filed out of the clearing after the men.

As soon as the women were gone the knight turned her to face him. She wriggled trying to break his hold on her but he held her tightly. She said "I will give you your money back. I beg you, please let me go." The knight said "Keep the money, I just want you for the night." The gypsy woman said "I will do what you ask if you promise not to tell the villiage or the men that we are stealing from them." The knight said "Deal," then he kissed her. She wrapped her arms around his and they sank to the grass.

The knight and the gypsy parted just as the sun was coming up. They would never forget that night, never in all their lifetime. The knight eventually married the gypsy but was killed in battle the following year. The gypsy told storied of his bravery to her clan and their children.
