Things seem to have beared down on me in recent times. As I inch closer and closer to the examination period, less than a fortnight away, I can't help but feel the stomache lurching experience of anticipation.
Its the fear of the great unknown which weighs down on my humbled shoulders. I feel both anxiety and excitement of the coming storm. My grade for art having been already set in stone, and my place confirmed and stamped, I wonder if this previous encounter is a grand mirror image of my iminent examinations, and then a flux of tension until the day the results are read, and a subtle sigh of relief. Or if this now past victory is simply there to cushion the blow of a crippling and debilitating failure in my other subjects.
But in the grand scheme of things this is all wild speculation. Thoughts of doubt and chaos, merit only more stress and constructive bounds which tie into my person. In hindsight I might find my actions now are a shallow echo of what is to be, or rather, what has become of me.
And then, they say that every bump in the road of life, is nothing more than another inconvenience which helps to steel the heart and soul of man. Although the 'trip' would be a darn sight easier if we knew the definite outcomes of the future.
ironic that. For all the fear, worry, hope, doubt and pressure we put ourselves through...It is often the journey, not the conclusion, that we grow to resent and loathe.
