Well I've been awfully quiet the last few weeks. whee
This mainly stems from far too much to do and not nearly enough time to do it all in. I'll share a small portion of a phone conversation I had with someone a couple of fridays ago, on the 29th of February....
Friend: "So I was wondering if you were up for dinner and a movie tonight?"
Me: "Oh, I can't. I have guests all weekend this weekend, and I need to pick the first two up tonight. Actually, if I wasn't doing that, I'd be at Taiko class. Oh, and now that I think of it, if I didn't have Taiko class, I'd be at a programming meeting. Er, sorry for getting sidetracked."
Friend: "How about next week?"
Me: "I have Taiko class every friday night."
Friend: "How about the weekend?"
Me: "Well, I have guests all weekend this weekend, next weekend I have my son, the weekend after is the anime club meeting on Saturday and staff meetings on Sunday, the weekend after that I have my son again... hold on, let me check my calendar..."
Friend: "How about a week night?"
Me: "Monday, Tuesday, or Wednesday? I have game Thursdays and Taiko Fridays."
It just kind of nicely illustrates how little free time I've had in the last month or two.
Of course, I'm also not the type of person that can go go go go constantly without stopping to take a break and catch my breath now and then, so sometimes things wait until I feel able to deal with them or what little free time I have is spent huddling in my room reading a book, watching anime, or playing a video game and trying to relax.
Yeah, me... relax. I know it's an oxymoron. Be quiet. xp I said TRY.
Our GM for the 7th Sea game I'm in has been talking about trying to hold game twice a week instead of once, too. Then I'd have only two week nights free a week. The weekends mostly get snatched up at least three weeks before they arrive. @.@; I'm still contemplating if I could survive that.
Of course, not all that 'free' time is really free. All my work for Fanime as Dept. head for Panels, Div. 2nd for Live Programming, etc.. has to be done within that free time as well.
exclaim All things considered, it's somewhat surprising that in addition to everything else, I'm nearly caught up now on Fanime Panel issues (still need to put content for scheduled panels onto the website tonight... can't do it from work), I've made a lot of progress in FFIII and should be able to add it to my list of completed games soon, I did complete Super Paper Mario when my son was here a week or so ago, and I also managed to watch the entire series of Cowboy Bebop.
stressed Of course, I also managed to get so frustrated and stressed out that I came home this last Wednesday evening, played Wii boxing until I could hardly stand, and woke up the next morning with so much muscle ache and pain in my lower back, I could barely move without getting severe pain. IE: I could barely move.
Haha... Thursday and Friday were FUN. I say that with a healthy dose of sarcasm that doesn't negate the fact that I -did- manage to have fun despite the pain. Plus, I wasn't feeling nearly so frustrated or stressed anymore.
So, was it worth it? Well uh, I didn't like the pain, but apparently I did accomplish the goal of working off the stress? whee Can't say I achieved relaxed though. xd This probably won't let up much over the next two months. As Fanime draws closer, there's more to do and more to make sure gets done... xD; Not to mention those possibly twice a week game sessions that're being discussed. Which reminds me, my character needs to write a report. ^^;; I'll just have to steal time for myself now and then. domokun
