So... after Gaia came out with feeds, it wasn't very long before they came out with a feed that notifies your friends of when your birthday is. I've been grumbling ever since this happened... since there is no way to turn the feature off or prevent it from happening.
Those who know me well, already know I don't celebrate my birthday, and why, and might imagine why I'd be upset about this.
Since I'm disinclined at the moment to spend the time and effort it would take to lobby in Gaia for the feature to be optional or 'fixed' or whatever... I instead had my birthdate changed to my join date, since my Gaia-versary is something I don't mind celebrating.
So, to those who've noticed the feeds messages, thanks for wishing me well! It's been 5 years since I joined Gaia. While I tend to disagree with the way some things have gone and the way some things are done, it's still true that Gaia has been instrumental in bringing me together with some people who've become very good friends of mine.
So.... to friends, to 5 years and counting, and to community... thanks to all of you who keep me coming back here.
