I thought it was time for another journal entry by now. I've been slacking lately! It seems as if suddenly everyone wanted to see me all at once, and I actually began needing that planner I bought just to keep track of where I was expected to be or who I was expecting to come which night.
Being me though, I still get burned out fairly fast when it comes to being social. I have to hang with a crowd for quite a while before I get comfortable enough with them that being in the group doesn't sap my energy and drain me. (Translate quite a while as probably being I need to have known them for a year or so and hung out quite a bit.) There are exceptions to that rule, of course... but they are few.
So by Friday night this last week I was somewhat cranky and really looking forward to the Nintendo event on Saturday where they gave away Manaphy. I and three friends got together that morning and trooped over to a local Toys R Us to collect our legendary pokemon. Of course, they all have both Diamond and Pearl and didn't give one of their games to their 7 year old son... me being the only one of the group who is a parent.
We were somewhat amused that Toys R Us had people lining up for what was a wireless download and could be done from anywhere nearby. We waited in line before the noon start time, but once the download became available, we got our Manaphy and departed. We proceeded to eat, and thence to hang out and be Pokemon Geeks for the rest of the day.
^-^ It was a fun and relaxing day. Most of them reset the DS several times to get a Manaphy with a particular nature or such... but my first Manaphy was Quirky... which I like, so I kept it. And I don't really plan to be a tournament player... so I didn't bother with trying to get good IV's.
I fiiiinnally got the Naruto fan quest to work for me yesterday. I had to use IE on my desktop computer to get it to work. So annoying. Apparently if the quest has an NPC you need to talk to, the quest won't work on Mac Firefox. (Or maybe I need to update Firefox again, guess I should check.)
The fan looks nifty, but I haven't had a chance to finish collecting them, or make an outfit with them. I still want to get more Bee helmets sometime.... I only managed one before Towns quit working on me.
Mmmmm... I guess that's it for now. I have a couple of free (mostly) nights coming up before my week gets busy again. Right now, I owe a big apology to someone for forgetting about them yesterday. x_x;
