Rain fell down though the breaks in the branches. Iceshadow's limbs were stiff and her wounds were aching. She had been walking non stop through the night. Then when dawn descended she slept high an a branch in one of the large trees around her.
Ice awoke with a start something was treading softly under the tree. She looked down without shifting her position an inch. The top of a place cloak looked back. Ice blinked the gumb out of her eyes as she watched the figure cast around it's head, looking around for something or someone.
Ice moved softly not making a sound. She moved to the other side of the tree. so the figure would not see her. Iceshadow wondered if the cloaked person was one of her fathers men.
The person was muttering to itself. Ice strained her ears to listen. Its voice was masculine. But Ice did not catch the words. The figure moved off into the trees. His, if it was a man, feet were barely making a sound on the forest turf. Ice sighed when he was of of hearing range.
Her wounds hurt it felt as though she only had a couple minutes of sleep instead of hours. She slid down from the tree gently landing on her feet. Her wounds jarring as she landed. Ice gasped softly. Then as quickly as she could walked in the opposite direction.
As soon as she walked about 6 km Ice felt some one following her. "Damn" she swore. All through the day she felt someone one following her. Ice carefully kept ahead of the person following. By night she had lost whoever it was in the jumble of the forest. Using the trees as the roads themselves.
She settled down for the night in a cold camp. out of the rain that hadn't stopped all day.
