Whatever... I write when about my life when I'm bored
What the journal title says, I write about my life when I'm bored. Nothing else and nothing more.
You mean people accutally die from playing a video game!?
I was looking around on Google not that long ago. I was looking for something to do with MMORPG (massive member online role playing game) and funeral (don't ask me why I searched the two things together because I forgot.) Some of the first things I found was a funeral event that took place on a game called World Of Warcraft. It said how a bunch of players got together to hold a virtual funeral for the death of a player in the real world. It said she died from playing the game for serveral days during a Chinese holiday.

When I read that I was like eek I play the .hack// games and read on their 'current events' about how people die from long time playing MMO's but I never thought anybody would accutally do that. The report also said how that was common and that the Chinese government was going to have a law made that you can only play a game for 3 hours at a time.

I know this is sort of old but I'm still really surprised that can accutally happen. I mean, wouldn't it be common sense to stop doing something after long periods of time when your tired or your eyes are hurting? Usually I stop playing a game or log off from the computer once my eyes or hands hurt. That or I stay on for a little while longer. I'm also wondering how that girl ate, drank, or went to the bathroom? She must of got up to at least go to the bathroom... If nothing else.

The report I read it on is here. http://www.vnunet.com/vnunet/news/2145633/world-warcraft-gamers-stage

thats insane! i heard of that happening a lot. she musve been wearing a diaper. and no, when i get a new and good game i can easily play till 2am and not feel tired or notice that i need to pee or that im hungry until i turn it off. then its like, ahhh kill me now! i can play easily 20 hours a day. and skip meals. i dont doubt it. i got like that whenever we got new sonic games. i dont get what the big deal is ove those games. they dont seem that fun.

    which chinese holiday?

I don't know which one, but it was a week long. I'm guessing summer because the report didn't come until November.

But still, for days!? It would be extremely hard to not notice after a couple of days? For a couple of hours is one thing, I could also play a game for extremely long times with out noticing those simple things. Except for soda or a drink. I always need a drink to survive when playing a game. Reason why I keep a bunch of green tea and soda hidden in my room. ninja

Accutally, MMORPG's are extremely addicting. I'm speaking from reason. When I first started playing Tricksest Online the first three hours of playing felt like 10 minutes. When I played my very first MMORPG I didn't want to leave the computer even though I was exahusted, hungry, and thirsty. The only reason I even left the computer was because my mom forced me to get off.

i told brian miliken about this at art because andy and tyler r always make fun of him for being a world of warcraft nerd and he said that its frequently happening there because they get paid a dollar a day to get people WoW money and work on their files. he said they also actually get enslaved and forced to do it. for real. no lie. he said that it makes perfect sense and they probably didnt LET her leave. plus money is scarce there.

That would make a lot of sense. But still... I didn't read anything about that in the report and it just said she was active member. I'm also wondering... if she barely had any money, how did she get the computer, game, and be able to pay the membership fee? The only thing I can think of that could answer that is that the company gave them the computer and game.
