Chronicles of an Alien
Mother led us to a strange planet filled with apes, who knew that I'd be in love with one of them, and carrying Mother's grandchild?
17.12.06 - To be or not to be?
This is officially dangerous. They know who I am! They know where I live! I've spent the past few days freaking out, and I've been too worried to write.. I don't even know where to begin.. Okay, let's see..

Well, two days ago, on the 15th to be exact, there were several raps upon our door. I had been playing with Thaddeus on the floor, curtains closed. Of course, I felt bad for keeping Thaddeus indoors all the time, but what could I do? If I went outside, I would most likely be spotted by the Resistance and killed. I scooped up Thaddeus and quickly made my way to the basement door, peeking a bit around the frame of it so I could see who it was. Meanwhile, Aur was putting on a jacket and pants, due to the fact that December brought about harsh winds and his normal outfit of boxers, a tie, and a monocle would not do. He glanced towards me, making sure I was safely hidden, and opened the door by just a crack.

"WHERE IS IT?!" The booming voice was followed the loud slam of the door against the wall. My heart raced, tears streaking down my warm cheeks. My grip tightened on Thaddeus, a hand around his mouth so he wouldn't cry and give us away. A flash of red around their mouths tipped off the fact that the Gaians were part of the Resistance. With torches in their hands, it was all too obvious that they weren't here to play nice- they were here to kill me.

"How dare you! I have no clue what you're talking about, and I'm about to call a mod to get you out of my home!" roared Aur, standing his ground with his arms crossed. The man in the doorway roughly grabbed Aur's jacket, running him backwards all the way into the adjacent wall, shattering the glass of a picture hanging on the wall with Aur's head. Aur groaned, slumping to the ground while still in the man's grip.

"You know damn well what I'm talking about. You're harboring that filth in this house, we know. We know, god damn it! Don't you care about what it's going to do?! I hope you know that it's going to stab you in the ******** back when time comes." The man glared at Aur, then released him while waving for the rest of his group to search the house.

I quietly closed and locked the basement door, tiptoeing down the steps. Though I was choking with sobs, I managed to stay relatively silent. Feeling weak, I decided to sit down in the darkest corner of my basement while cradling Thaddeus close to my pounding chest. My shaking hand still covered his mouth, still afraid that he would cry out. I felt my hand grow wet, and glanced down to see tears rolling from his eyes, and heard his muffled cries. Poor thing, I thought, he must be so scared and confused..

"What's in here? Is the zurg in here?!" The shouts came from right outside the door, obviously angry. "Knock knooocckk. Open up, zurgy zurgy." My body went completely cold as the knob rattled, only taking shallow breaths. "This damn pig is hiding." Silently, I scolded the man for speaking like that in a way my son could hear, and moved my arm to block his hearing.

"Don't you dare talk that way about her!" The voice that bellowed belonged to Aur, and though I was glad he was standing up for me, I was worried that they would kill him.

"Shut up traitor, or I'll hack you. I have no qualms about hacking a traitor! I'll sell all your s**t, change the password for all of your stuff, change all of your records, change your name. I'll run around as you, I'll ruin you. So don't tempt me, because I really couldn't care about someone sick enough to love a zurg," uttered the man while I sat in disbelief at the cruelness of this man. There has to be a way I can get out of here.. Why don't we have a phone down here? I could call a mod, they would hel- My thoughts were suddenly interrupted by Aur's voice.

"She isn't a Zurg."

"What did you say?" responded the man.

"She isn't a Zurg." Aur sounded quite calm; completely opposite of what I was. What is he thinking? I'm going to magically become Gaian?!

"You honestly expect me to believe that? You must think I'm stupid!" A loud groan followed that; he had punched Aur.

"Will you listen to me?! Look, we found this baby okay? We.. We aren't able to have kids, and it was just laying there. A little Zurg baby, okay? Abandoned. So, we brought it home with the intention of feeding it Red Bino, see? We were going to turn it into a Gaian, alright? She didn't know if it was dangerous though, so she drank some Zurg energy drink and planned to drink Red Bino, but she thought it might be fun to uh.. You know, be a zurg for a day.. Or two," explained Aur, still calm. Silence ensued for what seemed like hours; it was obvious that the resistance members were considering his story.

"Why has she gone into hiding, then? If she really is a Gaian, there should be nothing to fear," Questioned one of them. Aur chuckled softly, though loud enough for me to hear in the basement.

"You come with torches, swords, and bows. I don't think she has any reason to be unafraid. I mean, you were probably going to take her and our will-be son," Aur paused to explain, "that is, when he's a gaian he'll truly be our son." Once more he paused, and I imagined the resistance members nodding in approval. "If you had the chance, I'm sure you would have burned her in Chatterbox Square."

"He's right," someone replied.

"Alright. Fine. We'll leave you and your wife or whatever she is alone. But we'll be back in a week, a WEEK and she had better be Gaian again. Or else." The leader (or so I assumed) of the group spoke harshly, and his threat rang in my ears. I heard the slam of our front door, and a soft knocking on the basement door.

"Middie, sweetie, they're gone." I called out to him that I'd be right up, and struggled to get to my feet. My entire body felt like jelly; the climb up the stairs felt grueling, to say the least. I can say that I have never been more scared in my life, but only because of Thaddeus. Had Thaddeus not been with us, I probably would have stood up to them.

"A week.." I echoed, handing Thaddeus to his father before sitting down. "What am I going to do?" I felt Aur come up behind me, rubbing my back soothingly. The rest of the evening was spent discussing, crying, and hugging.

I still don't know exactly what to do.. I mean, in a week they might come back and finish the job they set out to do.. But, I don't want to drink RedBino, become a Gaian, and have mother find out that I betrayed my race. I'm loyal to my race, but I don't want Thaddeus to grow up without a mother. As a matter of fact, I'll be glad if Thaddeus grows up at all without someone murdering him.

I'm just not sure. However, that, like I said, was two days ago. I only have five, or four, more days to decide.
