Chronicles of an Alien
Mother led us to a strange planet filled with apes, who knew that I'd be in love with one of them, and carrying Mother's grandchild?
10.12.06 - From Halloween Night, Part One.
To be perfectly honest, I never wanted to leave with Mother. My home planet was anything a Zurg could dream of. However, Mother needed my help, and who was I to deny her? She had led us as a solid figure in society, and I could only do what she asked of me in return. So, was it any surprise that I accepted to go along with her?

I packed a few things for the trip. You know, pictures, pieces of home, stuff like that. As I made my way to the dock, I began feeling homesick before I ever left home; knew I might never even see it again. To be more specific, I might never see him again.. Yes, I thought about him throughout the long journey, and when I arrived on Gaia, it was the main prospect that fueled my hate for Gaians.

His name was Breznon. My first love, really. I met him when I was young, and still remember it. I had been playing with my new toy, a miniature space ship, by running with it. Well, there was a rock in the way and I clumsily tripped. His hand was the first one there helping me up, when everyone else was laughing at me. Since then, we were best friends until my adolescent years, when we kind of became a "couple". When I found out that I was expected to leave, I begged Mother to let him come along. Unfortunately, Mother felt that it wasn't necessary for him to accompany us.

The trip was tedious. My heart ached for my Breznon, though we kept up in transmissions for the early time of the journey, when the distance wasn't so great that the transmissions would be lost. Our last transmission was about the time the fleet detected Gaia's energy source. I curse Gaia to hell, because we changed gears and went into light speed soon after. At least it didn't take long to get to Gaia.

My ship was floating above their towns, and that's when I began to despise them. Their couples sickened me and stabbed my heart; seeing apes kiss, hold, and fondle made me miss my Zurg back home. Then Flarn found human love, and I hated him. How could he like these creatures? However, part of the hate was that I, too, would fall in love with someone- something I was determined not to do. Things definitely changed Halloween night.

I had landed my ship within the building, ready to probe cows and Gaians. A fool was made of me, though, as some stupid ape tripped me as I was making my way into the giant room. Everyone laughed while my confidence shattered. "Look at it! It's head is giant ahahaha!" "Ooh, hey look! Check out the probe!" "Let's steal it!" "Ahaha, looks like the big bad alien isn't so big and bad anymore."

"Stop it!" A man roared. I looked in front of me, my head level with bare feet. My gaze traveled upwards to see a lean Gaian standing in nothing but his boxers and a monocle. He bent down, offering a hand to me. Once more, my heart was stabbed by this act of kindness. I instantly had flashbacks of Breznon, who offered me a helping hand. My mind raced, not knowing whether I should accept his hand or if I should recoil. I simply accepted his hand, though, and he pulled me level with him.

Following shortly after, I lost him in the crowd. I tried to reunite with my original ship crew members, but they were also lost. There were many Zurg that night, much more than we had left with. Many that I bumped into didn't even know our language, which frightened me somewhat. Though I was with my own "race", they weren't even truly Zurg. I tried to look for Mother, to receive guidance, however, she had tromped off with Gambino she had her own business to take care of. So, I leaned against the wall of my ship, waiting for the night to be over. My probe had been stolen, and I wasn't much of a fighter, so it's not like I could do much anyways. Well, guess who came and found me? The same man who had helped me up earlier.

"Hey, you're looking a bit down." He leaned up next to me, staring into my jet black eyes.

"Oh no, I'm just fine." Somewhat frightened, though I wasn't sure of what, I turned away.

"Well, my name's Aur. What's yours?" Aur didn't seem deterred by my bad mood.

"My name is Middie." Silence ensued, nobody knew how to break the ice. "Um. Thanks for helping me."

"That was really cruel. On behalf of Gaia, I'm truly sorry. Oh, I think this is yours." I looked towards him; it was my probe! I half smiled and took it, nodding. The rest of the night was spent talking- talking about the Zurg, about Gaians, about our planets, our cultures. He mentioned that he didn't have anywhere to go for the night, so I invited him to stay aboard the space ship. Aur seemed surprised, yet he gladly accepted. We flew around in the ship until morning, when I showed him to his quarters and showed myself to mine. I felt guilty, of course, having fun with someone other than Breznon. However, he was a million lightyears away and it wouldn't hurt to have a friend.
