Zabuza~Ann, what's wrong?
He crouched to her level. She was sulking about something.
Ann~No...
Zabuza~Ann
He said her name sternly. Ann waved her arm and slapped him. Zabuza sighed
Zabuza~You want something? Your bottle? Pacifier?
Ann~Mama?
Zabuza sighed~ She was bound to ask at some point...I…
He wondered if he should keep teaching her this line of vocabulary. She keeps proving she's smarter than he thinks after all.
Zabuza softly~When she gets home Ann. You just wait...
He tried to pick her up but all she did was raise her arms up to fall through his hands to continue screaming “mama.”
Zabuza~when she gets back Ann. which is never. But how do you explain death to a 2 year old?...maybe auron will take you if he still has his a**
Ann~no no no!!! mama!!!
Zabuza frustrated~she isn't coming!
she slammed backwards hitting her head against the wooden floor and started screaming and crying. His arm twitched towards her
Zabuza~this was bound to happen sooner or later...at least...she isn't doing this later...
He laid down on his bed, leaving Ann to her tantrum. There's no reasoning in a tantrum.

After what seemed like hours, which was really only 30 minutes, Ann went over to the bed and tried pulling at some part of Zabuza's clothing
Ann~bobble zaza?
Zabuza picked her up onto the bed then went to get her a bottle. After he gave it to her, she laid down beside him. Zabuza wiped her eyes
Zabuza~night
Ann~night night....
she quietly fell asleep, still sniffling
Zabuza~Auron, you better be back from your damn mission...It's been over two years and you should know that you have a daughter by now
he sighed and got up, not disturbing Ann at all. He set up some bottles for her on the pillow then left. Maybe he can get some answers or rumors from the other swordsmen. In all of their quirkiness, they're bound to have heard something. Right?

Zabuza walked into the kitchenette, seeing Kisame against the counter and Raiga at the table.
kisame~hey Zabuza. Why are you showing up less and less lately?
Zabuza~what's it to you, fish paste?
kisame~what was that?!
raiga~oh quit it fish paste and eyebrowless freak
they both glared at him
raiga~it's his own business that he doesn't show up as much kisame, so it shouldn't matter much to you. we never ask why you look so much a like a fish and not a person
kisame grumbled and calmed back down
Zabuza~thanks...have either of you heard anything from auron?
kisame~Your sister's boyfriend?
Zabuza~dumbass, they're married
kisame~yeah yeah whatever. Him?
Zabuza~of course...
raiga~Rumor says that he died, but others are saying that he's still carrying out that mission of his. No body to confirm s**t though.
Zabuza~ *sigh* great....
kisame~why do you need to know, Zabuza?
Zabuza~he owes me s**t
kisame~what about your sister? her death means no more threats to use us for menial s**t…but there's been a power vacuum since
Zabuza~what about her? I'm just mad that she died...since now i'm stuck with a brat for another few years
raiga~kisame leave him alone...it's better to pick on him when he's here for a mission than cleaning out the fridge.
Zabuza~then i'm leaving...
He went to the communal fridge to get his food from his last mission. With these two here, he can't check if there was a new drop yet.
kisame~hey i thought you said i can have that pudding cup
Zabuza~too bad, dipshit. I've changed my mind
Zabuza left, feeling a small victory for annoying the older teen. How low did he sink to call that a victory instead of entertainment?
kisame~damn...I wanted that pudding...
raiga sighed

Zabuza headed home, no reason to stake out the kitchenette without risking Ann alone longer than necessary. He was trying to figure out what he could cook to feed her later. She's been avoiding green-colored foods this week for some reason.

As he came closer to his building, he saw a figure casually leaning against the property fence. He glared at Mei as he approached. What reason did she have to visit him?
Zabuza~What're you doing here?
Mei~I was walking. Decided to rest here. And you?
Zabuza growled~I live here. You should move on already.
He didn’t like the idea of someone lingering. He still hasn't figured out a silencing jutsu or even an alarm jutsu for his unit.
Mei~Soon enough. I also wanted to check on you. Ane always told me you were stupid.
Zabuza~I could say the same about her. Leave.
Mei~Alright. Consider this a gift. Ane said to make sure you don’t starve. I'm actually surprised you lasted this long.
She walked off, leaving behind a brown paper-wrapped box and a basket of fruits. There was a single peach sitting on top of all the fruits.
Zabuza~I guess Ane actually had friends
He eyed where she had walked off to as he approached the “gifts.” Picking up the basket revealed a folded card underneath. Opening the card, his look softened a little at seeing the two jutsus he needed but couldn't find without drawing attention to himself. She even gave him a way to ask for something specific for future drops.
