The game is a very traditional dungeon crawler in story, but in heart and mechanics, it is something quite different. The story revolves around a group of apprentice swordcrafters who are competing to become Craftlords, the highest rank among their people. The story has 8 different story branches and different character's stories to play. Combat runs similar to the Tales series, allowing real time combat, which adds a level of excitement to the system. Also within the game is the ability to gather materials to create your own personal weapons, which is an added twist to the RPG genre. Other than that, not much is known on my part, as I have had little hands on play with it just yet, I am sure I will let you all know how it is.
Another gigatntic piece of news is of Nintendo's large party, dedicated almost solely to the Wii. With it came the date of Novemeber 19th and the price of $249.99 (american dollars of course). Many have risen their arms in an uproar to even the thought of a price that high and I honestly do not understand why. We know that the price is not just for the physical hardware, but for the ideal of innovate gameplay. It is an investment we are willing to make to have fun. Nintendo knows that it is something we are willing to pay for and it is a reasonable price. The system comes with numerous multimedia functions such as video and photo modification programs, a news and weather channel, plus the ability to browse the web and use Nintendo's internal messaging system. I do not honestly see where the problems lie?
The system has dropped it's DVD functionality. I see no problem there since many have numerous DVD players in their home. The system will only come in one color initially, white. What is wrong with white..it is a neutral color that goes with everything, besides, you will be looking on the screen more than you will be looking at the console.
What we want has no price tag, it is without bounds. It is the idea of ultimate gaming. It is activity and with that activity, entertainment and joy. It is the idea of people coming together to enjoy gaming, regardless of age, social status, gender etc. We will pay for this system because it is not only something we will find fun, but it is something we will find to be fun for others. It comes with Wii Sports, something simple and easy to grasp, it comes with the fun interface that is easy to manipulate. IT comes with a backcatalogue of classic games that we can purchase for cheap. We should trust Nintendo not to do us wrong. We saw it with the DS and we should see it here for the Wii....it will succeed.
I think that is the most I can say about the subject. It is like beating a dead horse.
