This Mama and her first endeavor into the realms of cooking oriented videogames is now in session for your Nintendo DS.
The game centers itself around collecting recipes and actually cooking, using the touch screen in a range of applications such as grating cheese and other items, chopping veggies, frying foods, adusting temperatures, mixing items and even using the microphone to blow down the foam from boiling concoctions. This game features a SLEW of recipes, including the ability to mix creations together to form new recipes. The idea is quirky and fun and at the price of $20 it is incredibly cheap and worth the purchase, as I am sure the price will skyrocket later in it's life.
Yes....this game is a collectors item. It is fun, quirky and totally unknown, but also incredibly difficult to find, as was my major problem when setting fourth to purchase this item.
I started off hitting every single videogame retailer in the city I live in, finding them all sold out in all 5 stores. I then checked stores such as Target, Walmart, Meijer (similar to walmart found only in the midwest) and other stores elsewhere. After going through a whopping total of 12 stores, I almost gave up my search until I stumbled upon a Best Buy. I had already tried one best buy and felt no harm in attempting to search in another. Low and behold, there lied my treasure, the image of Mama smiling at me on their clear plastic covering. I knew it was meant for me and I rushed to the register to purchase it, along with a bottle of pink lemonade (I know I know...pink and cooking sim is not the most masculine thing in the world, but I was thirsty and I like the taste....jeez!) and am enjoying my time with cooking mama, check it out, it is worth your money.
