Travis stroked the side of my face and smiled at me. Two hours had gone by and most of it had been spent in a heavy make out session. He leaned down so that his nose touched mine, making us both laugh before he murmured, "I know this is a little quick, but uh . . .would you be my girlfriend?"

I blinked in surprise before nodding slowly. This caused what I'd always heard referred to as an 'eskimo kiss.' He laughed and kissed me quickly on the lips before sitting up, "I'd best get back to my coloring."

I stopped him, "Travis, I can't guarantee I'll be at your show, but I'll try to hang out with the others more."

He nodded, "No pressure, Jessi. I just want you to because I know that you'll have fun. Once you get past the sarcasm and the hurt, you're a pretty great person, you know that?"

I could feel my whole face get red and I rolled my eyes, "Shut up."

He laughed and dropped down to the floor to finish coloring.

After a moment he said tenatively, "Jessi?"

Travis being hesitant usually means he's messed up. I just waited for it.

"Please don't kill me."

"What did you do?" I sighed and slid off the bed. I looked down to see that he'd completely screwed up the poster. Somehow he'd marked out a bunch of important information. I groaned.

He looked up at me, his mouth pouting in a way that I couldn't resist. I bent at the waist and kissed him again. After a couple of minutes, I pulled back and tapped his lip ring, "I couldn't kill you. It's too fun to kiss you. Screw it. We have everything else done, I guess we don't really need the extra points for the poster."

He looked down and then up at me sheepishly, "You weren't kidding when you said I suck at this school stuff. You know, if From First To Last ever makes it big, I'm probably going to drop out."

I smiled, "When From First To Last makes it, you mean."

He looked at me with a huge smile, "You really think we could?"

I nodded, "And that's just from seeing you practice. I can only imagine how good you perform."

"You wouldn't have to imagine if you'd come to the-"

"No."

He practically growled before moving to face me and framing my face in his hands, "If for no other reason than to be there for me?"

Geez. Who could resist that? Certainly not me. I threw my arms around his neck and sighed, "Fine."

"Thank you." He threw his arms around me and squeezed me tight. I just shook my head and let him.

He was just going to pull away when there was a knock at my door, "Jessi?"

It was my mom. She opened the door before I could say anything and gave a small gasp of surprise before grinning, "Well, hi. I'm sorry, hun, but I was just wondering if you had plans tonight? The woman down the street needs a babysit-"

I really didn't want to baby sit and I guess my face showed it because Travis nudged me and murmured near my ear, "I was going to ask you to the movies."

I nodded before looking at my mom, "Yeah, I have plans, Mom, sorry."

She frowned, "Doing what?"

Gee, make it obvious that you're use to me being an anti-social with no life why don't you?

I sighed, "Hanging out with friends."

"Yeah, right." She looked at me as if I'd grown another head.

Travis arms around me tightened, "Actually, Matt and Maddi wanted us to meet them soon, Jessi."

I looked at Mom with a smirk, "See."

Sure we were playing it by ear, but at least she couldn't embarrass me this way.

She just nodded, "Alright, fine. I'll tell her that you aren't available."

As soon as she left the room, Travis sighed, "Crap, it was like she couldn't believe what she was hearing."

I nodded into his shoulder since he had yet to let me go, "She's just use to me not-"

"I could tell. Come on, let's go already. That way she can't try again." He laughed a little and pulled back to stand up.

I followed suit immediately after and he took my hand. He looked at me almost shyly, "Is this-"

I looked at him incredulously, "I practically attack your face and you're asking me if it's okay to hold my hand?"

He laughed, "Sorry. I just never know where I stand with you."

I frowned, "You're my first friend in two years, not to mention that, unless I'm dreaming some really nice dream, you just asked me out. I think you stand pretty high on a pedestal in my eyes."

He gave my hand a squeeze and pulled me closer as soon as we got outside of my house, "Yeah, well, you always have to me. I've liked you for a long time."

I nodded, "To tell you the truth, I uh . . .liked you a lot more than I let you know."

He smirked, "You don't say?"

I rolled my eyes, "Shut up."

He laughed and kissed my cheek as we headed off down the street
