Well, I'm starting highschool on Tuesday. Today is the last day of my vacation and I'm getting ready for a new chapter in my life. I'm looking forward to it (somewhat) with meeting new people and all. . . I've even figured out a kind of path I want to take myself on as I cruise into the years.
I want to finish highschool and go off to Ottawa U. to take Journalism. Once graduated, I would really like to go into music as a journalist for Alternative Press which would then take me to the states. Gaining experience in the industry, I would bring this knowledge back to Canada and start on my own magazine covering the Canadian, indipendent scene. I would continue with this for a few years until I'm ready to settle down with a family and open a cafe alongside my musician husband.
The cafe would be very supportive of the local, musical talent and would also host their EP's, full albums and anything they produce for the market and make the cafe into a Coffee shop/Music store cross fusion. It ould be a very warm place, probably somewhere in the city where we would attract all sorts of people.
The cafe would be filled with all sorts of couches and the atmosphere would be very relaxed and near the back would be a kind of internet cafe where laptops would be set up for use. I would want it to be very much for the kids and the younger crowd, never having much of a place for me and my friends at this age.
Every few weeks we could host a battle of the bands and the winner would get recording time in our basement studio. Atleast they would be able to make a demo for a bigger label such as Drive Thru.
What a dream I have. . .
