She rises from her bed
Holding in hand her blanket and bunny
Called from her door
Monsters!
she cries

But no one comes
Go back to sleep!
They tell her

She's afraid to re enter her room
Footsteps behind her
Too scared to move
Monsters!
She tries again

A swift hand
A silent cry
Pulled back
Into the darkness
A blanket
A bunny
Left on the ground
Owner missing
Owner drowned
Why did this happen?
Another slipped away
All because
