Shelby seemed to be amongst this jungle area that was being taken over by 'the future' but in hopes of saving this lost world, she had joined up with a few other people: Mika, Niki, Alex, and Stephen. Mika was a skilled survivor of these parts and had hair as golden as the sunlight. Niki had a good head on her shoulders and was the leader of the group with her brown hair always back in a braid. Alex was a large woodsman as well as Mika and was his right hand man, his dark skin gave him away that he wasn't from around here though. And Stephen was a stowaway pirate that Niki had let join up in hopes that he wouldn't get killed.
Upon leaving out camping spot, a small creature runs out and looked kind of like a dog, only much...much smaller; perhaps a puppy the size of a mouse. Niki turned back to Shelby and asked her to make sure it didn't get in harm's way, so she jumped off the horse drawn wagon and went back after it. After scurrying after it a bit Shelby finally caught it in her hands and started back for the campsite while the others went on ahead to scout out the land. They had built a cane prison to keep the horses in overnight, so she put the creature inside of it, but let the door open a few inches with a large stone in front of it so that the small thing couldn't get out. Although it barked and cried as she left, she swallowed a bit hard and pressed on, knowing that it would eventually climb over the stone, but by then they would have been gone too far to for it to get in their way.
Shelby now was a bit disturbed as the dirt path she had been walking on turned to a white tile and to her left a white tiled wall appeared, blocking out the view of the jungle. Of course the looming trees could be seen over it, but for the most part, Shelby's view was gone. Up ahead were two large creatures coming her way. She thought about turning back and running as her heart beat madly in her chest, but then shook her head against it. Mika had told her to never act afraid in the face of danger and then danger wouldn't mess with you.
As the creatures drew closer, Shelby could make out that they looked like giant dragons, only without wings and one of their feet could easily crush a horse and cover its entire body. They were heavily armed and shielded as their riders were upon their backs. The first one passed up easily, but Shelby started to get more frightened at the one behind it for some fashion, but it in turn didn't harm, nor pay her any attention. But now, her face seemed to be on fire. Had something been done? She put a hand up to the right side of her face only to hiss at the stinging sensation. Now also on her left, a wall had formed and the showers and bathrooms were here and she quickly rushed inside to find Niki. Niki didn't pay her much attention at first and then suddenly jumped whenever she spotted her face. It was as if half of her skin were trying to burn off her head. The entire right side of her face was blood red and worsening. Niki rushed Shelby over to the sinks to run water over her face and the worsening stopped, but that didn't make the damage that had already been done go away. Sobs came from Shelby, knowing this was a terribly bad thing that had happened to her, but she didn't understand why. She received a sharp blow on the back of the head from Niki to stop her cries. Gently she led her over to the doorway and pointed outwards. Shelby only showed half her face, her good side, and noticed the rest of the gang, trying to climb over the walls. Mika turned to look at them and Niki had him come over. He suddenly saw Shelby's face as well and his eyes grew large as he stepped into the women's washing area. He came walked her back over to the sinks and took a rag and asked her, "repent now... everything you can think of, even if it wasn't bad... say it now..." Shelby didn't know what to do so as he washed over her face, she cried with everything she could think of that was against herself and anyone else. She spoke of her love for Mika, her fear of the dragon creatures, her guilt for pinning up that small creature of if it was taken by the larger creatures. Finally Mika put a finger to her mouth and silenced her. She turned to look in the mirror to see that now her normal skin was back and all that remained were a few drops of water.
