So Friday and Saturday was spent traveling/camping/rafting. I encourage people (now) to at least try rafting. Beginning with an ok Level 3 rapids course.
You see, it's not hard at all. You get a life vest, learn how to stay in the boat, the commands, how to paddle, basic safety...and then your off. It's fun and cool on a hot day as it has been in Cali. in the most recent of times.
So I'm rafting with six other friends and a guide, going over rapids, having fun. Our group consisted of 18 people. On one of the first rapids (which happened to be one of the largest), about 5 or so people fell out in a different raft. Coincidently, most were the ones who talked about as much smack as I did. It was funny to point and laugh and talk more smack to them. Good times.
I myself did not fall out at all during the trip. I almost did, once, but due to a good foot hold I managed to kind of just hang out of the boat and pull myself back in. I did jump out once to swim through a rapid, and twice to get to lunch and to finish the trip. We actually flipped the raft when we reached the lunch area for the heck of it. I lost my hat then. ;-;
But it was cool. Literally. The water was nice. It was like jumping into a pool with about five or so party-sized bags of ice.
Fun fun...
