"What do you m..." Her words were cut off as recognition hit her like a tree. The tattoos on his tan skin, the necklace around his neck, everything. His voice was deeper but there wasn't a single doubt in her mind.
She had dreamed of him coming back, but those had only been dreams. She had never truly thought she would see him again. As she stood there, eyes locked on him and wide with shock, she felt a tear roll down her cheek. She could feel herself shaking as she covered her mouth, bracing herself with her free arm against the bar.
"Please tell me this isn't a dream... Are you really.... Are you actually home...? She fought back her sobs. She had given up hope of seeing him again, she had thought that he was dead and gone. She had hoped he would return but hope tends to disappear over time.
