xoxoWart was destined to take the throne. It's a part of his back story. In truth, he was the son of the last great king before him, secreted away by Merlin after the wizard warned the father of a deadly fate that would endanger the boy as much as his father.
xoxoUther Pendragon died of sickness. While many pointed fingers or assumed control of their own lesser kingdoms, Merlin alone knew the truth of his only son, an unannounced child by the name of Arthur. Raised by Sir Ector, the Trustworthy Knight, the boy was overshadowed by his adoptive older brother, Kay, who was well on his way to knighthood. It was only by way of enchanted sword that young Wart was able to prove himself to be of noble lineage.
