The History
Bio: Born in fairly recent times, Erela was raised a soldier like most of her angel kin. Wars across the world kept her busy carrying off the dead or protecting carriers of the Word. Though she spent much of her life as a foot soldier, her constant dedication to her work and her successes in defense and guidance of minor carriers has given her a number of opportunities to succeed further in life. As one of the children of Barachiel, the leader of guardian angels, she is gifted with abilities made for protection and blessing. She has been sent to Earth to defend structure, which seems to be what she understands most.
Personality: Erela is the kind of angel one looks to when looking for a job to get done with no stops along the way. Steadfast, for she lacks the knowledge to be anything but, she follows an objective dogmatically to the point of self-neglect. She does not show fatigue or fear, but remains composed at all times. Humor is not entirely lost on her, but it takes some coaxing to evoke such emotions from this stalwart angel. Calm among chaos, forever at war, she stands like a stone and yields to very little.

Commentary:
xoxoSo, basically the goal of this journal now is to write about and expand on characters currently in existence. Some of these are quick to stop existing, and it's mostly a way to experiment with certain ways to play a character, but I'm hoping that this will mean that I can be a bit more thoughtful about how I write. At this point in my writing, I've stagnated on these sort of emotionless or "dark"-ish characters, and it's time for a change. Even I've gotten tired of it.
xoxoSo, Erela's basic concepts are all there and easily explained. She existed just in time for a lot of wars and rebellions in a swiftly developing human world. As an angel, her job was mainly to guide those who played small but pivotal roles in these great wars and such. She became very accustomed to war, and as a result thinks more like a soldier or a tactician than a heavenly creature. However, underneath a no-nonsense exterior, she is vastly intrigued by human nature. While angels operate according to what essentially comes down to programming, humans seem aimless, but with a number of surprises up their sleeves.
xoxoWhen I began thinking up this character, I definitely pulled a lot of inspiration from the character Castiel from the popular show Supernatural (which the roleplay is also inspired by). In later seasons, this angel goes from highly motivated only by his job to finding worth in human life through Sam and Dean Winchester. While not nearly as attached to a small handful of human beings, Erela is interested on the whole by people and their potential. As a result, while in the human world, she attempts to learn as much about cultural practices as possible while still remaining true to her job.
