I'm sure we all do, but I've got this friend. Now, he doesn't stand out much, blends in, pretty much your average run-of-the-mill stu. He's taking advance classes, is a good deal active, and loves playing cards with me. He's, in short, a good friend whom will borrow money and pay back when he says and is willing to do the same for you. He's also a stud. He went to two proms this year, each with good looking ladies.

Well, his family...eh, not so great. You see, his older-by-15min. sister is on her period 25/8. I kid you not she gets angry for no reason. You try telling her a joke, she gets mad at you. She's boring and plain.

His parents are the most penny-pinching people I know. They wanted to make their house bigger with room add-ons. Instead of hiring people for what might've been a few months process, they do it themselves (kids included) to save money. The kids only get new clothes on rare occasions, the majority of the ones they have are hand-me-downs. They're also very, very cautious, to the point of which it's very, very boring at this guy's house. I can understand no video games, I can understand no cable, but when you have a computer and live in this day and age, you NEED internet, even if it's 56k dial-up. You need it for work, you need it for school, you NEED it.

So, whenever it's my friend's birthday, I'm usually counted on for some form of entertainment. Last year, he invited a few friends over, one of which brought his Xbox and Halo 2. Fun was had and the day was good.

Picture life in your house where most everything is old and worn. Not fun, huh? Not impulsive, huh?

So I'm minding my own business one day when he talks to me and invites me to his house. I tell him sure and ask him the occasion. He says he's inviting a few of his girlfriends over to watch a movie on (listen to this) his new 48' plasma HD Tv.

If I have ever pulled a WTF?! moment in my life, it was then.

Apparently, ever since his last birthday party, his very old TV has been fuzzy and messed up. Apparently, his parents were daring and decided to get something actually really, really good. He believes his parents are also possibly, just possibly, planning to get cable or satellite.

Ladies and gentlemen, Hell has seen snow.

And really I've no idea as to why I made this entry. Possibly to tell of my friend. He's still a cool guy, though.

Druki's Brother: He's right, you know. The concequences of going to his house (up until recently) had been spending a month in the hospital treating a brain tumor because his house sucks that much.
