Imagination is a canvas
Blank at birth
But filled with promise
It sits in an artist's head
Waiting to be painted on and painted over
It is influenced by everything around it
It could stay clean and pristine
Or become torn and tattered
The possibilities are endless
But always with one outcome
Breath-taking
Imagination is the crazy colors
And the monochromatic motifs;
The excited brushstrokes
And the tired globs of paint;
The meaning behind the meaning
And the pretty picture;
The intuition
Before it's doubted and pushed aside;
The voice
Before it's silenced by another's choice
Imagination is freedom
Freedom to have a meaning
Or to have none
To live life
Or wallow in it's sorrows
To be accepted
For your unacceptability
Imagination is the freedom to finish a painting
Or to leave that to the next artist
