Chapter 4
I sighed and looked at her unconscious in my arms. Her lips looked soft and her face looked so innocent. I picked her up off the ground and carried her in front of me. I walked toward the Escalade and put Tey in the back seat as Show opened the door.
Show didn't ask any questions as if he understood but Dro didn't hesitate. "What? How? Why?" As if full questions weren't necessary.
"Fainted, smelled blood, and 'cause I couldn't leave her there." He didn't use complete questions so he didn't get complete answers.
"Whatever, mane. Do what you gotta do." He sat back in his seat and re-lit the clip that was sitting in the ash tray.
I left her laying there and went back to the club to find Tyi and Quan. I dialed their numbers several times before giving up and just walking past the bouncer into the club. I gave up and started heading back to the Escalade. Walking past the alley that that murder was commited, I quickly plugged headphones into my ears when I noticed someone in the alley calling for help. I ignored him when his voice got directed toward me. I walked quickly toward the Escalade so he couldn't follow my movements.
I hopped in beside Tey who was still laid out. She looked comfortably sleep on the seat and the entire vehicle was being hotboxed by Dro facing a fresh blunt. I closed the door behind me and ignored the seatbelt. "Let's jet."
I took the blunt from him since the marijuana already in his system was already enough to increase our chances of crashing. I started smoking it and pushed aside a few strands of hair from her face so I could clearly see her face. Her soft skin and half smile almost beckoning me closer.
Dro broke through my admiration. "So what up, bruh? You 'bout to take her home 'n rape her?"
Irritation struck my nerves. "Chill out. I ain't catchin' no cases over some dumb s**t like that. I'ma be lookin' dumb as s**t when niggas ask me why I'm locked up 'n I tell 'em rape. Never that."
Dro started coughing from laughing and the smoke still in his lungs. "That's exactly what I was thinkin' what was gonna happen."
Show chuckled. "Trifelin'."
"But for real. Where I'm takin' her?"
"My spot, boy. I dunno where she stays."
"A'ight." The engine roared as it sped throught green and yellow lights. I watched over Tey as she slept, smiling when she stirred in her sleep. I don't know how she could sleep in the thick smoke though.
We pulled up to my house and the smoke rushed out to the open air as I opened the door. I tossed Show my house key and picked Tey up carefully. He opened the door for me and we touched elbows for a dap since my hands was full. He put the key on the counter table and closed the door behind him.
I decided to put her on my bed since nobody likes to sleep on a couch. I placed her on my bed and covered her up. The curtains were slightly open and a ray of moonlight radiated on her skin. I stood there and stared at how beautiful she loooked. She stirred again and kicked the covers off of her. I could only suck my teeth and shake my head.
I closed the door behind me and proceeded to the couch. I was too tired to get undressed and I'd just take a shower in the morning. I laid down and just stared at the ceiling. I had a beautiful girl in my bed and I couldn't lay with because she wasn't mine. I shrugged it off and turned on my side to try to sleep. Before i could even try to lull myself to sleep, I felt someone's eyes on me. I opened mine to see Tey standing there with her eyes half closed.
I just stared at her until she said something. "I cold."
"You had a cover..." I pointed out.
"So."
"What the ********." I said under my breath. I moved back a little so she would have room in front of me but she slipped in behind me, hugging my waist. She whispered something about a teddy but I couldn't really hear her. I pulled the cover back over us and I drifted off.
