The inevitable. The unthinkable.
Are these not what happens today?
A sudden chill from the air overtakes me
as I watch droplets of rain pound against the pavement.
Is this not how we were meant to live?
Nay. We are destined for so much more.
Even the tiniest swallow knows from birth–
it has a purpose, it has something to live for.
Like the bees who know their fate,
who know that they have a duty to pollinate
the world’s flowers so they may blossom into so much more,
we, too, have a purpose...
as caretakers, stewards to the world.
