Herein, you will find my random words and scribbling, rants and raves about everything and nothing. Sometimes they may provoke thought, other times laughter. All times, fun and random. So read dear friend. If you dare...
[RANT] Stink Pretty
So, turns out I miscounted and am now a day behind. OH NOES!! But hey, better late than an aneurysm. Right? So today we get another mini-rant on a subject that hasn't recently assailed my nostrils, but does so every now and then to devastating effect. Of what do I speak? Why, Perfume usage of course. (Note that the following applies just as directly to cologne as well. Men and women tend to make the same sorts of poor judgement calls in this department.)

Okay, so I like the people around me to not smell like a** just as much as the next guy. (Assuming of course that teh next guy is not someone who appreciates the smell of a**. Ew.) But there is such a thing as going much too far in your efforts to mask or improve your scent. If you wish to apply some perfume of cologne to help improve your natural scent, fine. But the general rule of thumbe with such products (and many lube and other grease based products as well) typically runs along the lines of "a little dab will do ya." Dousing yourself in the product (the perfume, not the lube) of your choice by no means increases your 'smell good' factor by equal amounts. In fact, it tends to have quite the opposite effect. There is a very tiny zone into which the 'just enough' amount falls. Too little, and there is no appreciable benefit. Too much, and your new scent could be almost more offensive than your previous state. As such, please use both caution and restraint if you find it necessary to apply such products to your person. Personally, I think there shouldn't be a large need for such things, assuming that you bathe regularly and follow basic hygiene practices. Of course I've never been much for finding the attractiveness of different smells. At least not outside of a kitchen. So remember, if you find yourself applying something to "improve" your natural scent, just use a 'little bit'. Not a 'little bath'.
