I've seen the scars
of those I love
and it's like they cut me.
My heart feels hurt,
betrayed, ignored
as if my feelings don't matter
and maybe they don't
but that doesn't stop the pain.
I've seen it before
and I know that
I'll see it again
but please, I beg of you
not on you.
Don't hurt this body
that I love and treasure.
Don't hurt me,
at least, not through you.
You can break my heart.
You can shatter my soul.
But don't drive me insane
from your own pain.
Scars like that
reflect pain and suffering
and your pain, your suffering,
magnifies the tiniest pain of mine.
I've seen the scars
too many times
and i know I'll see them again
but please, not on you.
Because your smallest pain,
it kills me.
