This wretched heart of mine
and so dimwitted too.
Why does a broken heart
continue to love
the person who broke it?
I feel like ripping it from my own chest
every time I hear it so much as whisper his name.
From the deepest part of my heart,
it screams his name.
In anger, in sadness, in love.
It echoes throughout my entire being.
And such torture it provokes.
Why can the heart not live without love?
It would hurt much less that way.
Please, stop uttering his name.
If only it would stop.
Stop crying his name.
Stop loving him.
Stop loving at all.
Stop beating.
Just stop.
