Part 7: The Son of the Devil
Tsuzuki looked at Nagi's right wrist there on the skin was a faint tracing, something that looked as if it was placed there along time ago. "What is this?"
"You know what it is." Muraki was preparing for his ritual. "If I don't remove it, you risk losing him."
"So all this time, you're the concerned father for his son?"
"I guess that's what it is called."

Schuldich paced Nagi's room, he was worried, that was what made little sense, he knew that in the past, he made fun of the boy. He sat on the bed and held up a stuffed animal, the bunny that he took from Tot. "Nagi, I'm sorry," Schuldich sighed and got out of the room, just as Hisoka appeared. "DAMN, KID DON'T DO THAT!"
The boy ignored them and someone named Watari brought out a map of houses in Kyoto. "Well, so far, it doesn't take as long as you think to get from this house to Kyoto. Schwarz's house is sort of in the middle. The Muraki Estate is one of the only houses that is directly to the south and also is a registered hospital too."
Crawford was sitting there listening, his eyes on the map, then on Schuldich. "Take the jeep and head toward Kyoto."
"Crawford!" Schuldich glared at him. "You're coming, I don't care what you are thinking, but you are coming. Aren't you his guardian or not?"
"I..." The American looked away, his eyes still unsure how to answer this. Schuldich, I risk a lot if I go with you, you have to understand, even it has been twenty years, I am terrified of Muraki.
Schuldich just sighed and grabbed his keys. "Hey, kid, get in the car." He looked at Hisoka who just vanished. "What the hell?"
"We sent Hisoka and his partner ahead of you, don't worry Shinagami travel a lot faster than cars do. You'll see him in Kyoto. Also I would like to point out it is my area of expertise, so you might as well just have me along anyway!" Watari smiled at him brightly. "After all, being that I am a scientist myself, I was hoping to try out some...."
"Whatever!" Schuldich walked into the basement and knocked on the door. "Farf, you up?"
There was a faint rustling in the room, entering the darkened room, a man in a straightjacket looked up at him. "What is going on?" He turned around so that Schuldich could undo the bonds.
"Nagi was kidnapped."
"I'll make whoever did this pay," Farfarello's eyes fixed on Watari who was staring at him from the door. "Who is that?"
"Just someone who will lead us to Nagi, you won't hurt him and he is our friend."
Somehow this doesn't sound reassuring, Watari thought and gulped. "Shall we go?"
***
Tsuzuki sat in a tree outside of the Muraki Estate and waited for Hisoka, he had not been in this hospital in ahwhile and being here scared him far worse than anything else. He turned his head just a little to the left when he saw the boy appear. "He's preparing to remove something from Nagi's wrist."
"What is it?"
"I don't know, but I think we need Watari."
Hisoka turned around and smiled. "Well, I think that Watari is going to turn up now, he's using his powers on Schwarz."
"Do you think that is wise?" Tsuzuki was sounding concerned. "Oh, did you bring something to eat, I'm famished, I have been watching this place for awhile."
Reaching into his pocket, the younger Shinagami brought out a garnolia bar. "This is all I got, Crawford is a real health food nut. He doesn't even let Nagi-kun have chocolate."
Tentatively, Tsuzuki opened the package and munched on it. "So, Crawford is still living in terror?"
"All of Schwarz is in terror of Muraki, what ever that doctor did it haunts their memories."
***
Muraki finished the preporations, he knew that he little time to mess up, if Schwarz showed up too soon, Nagi wouldn't survive. He sighed and started the ritual. Taking out a knife, cutting Nagi's right wrist lightly, not deep enough to cause any over bleeding, he just needed enough of Nagi's blood ot make a new symbol. Opening the boy's shirt, he traced the marking on the chest. "From this mark, I now I undo, allow him to live without another one of my deeds." There was a faint light that he became aware of.
He opened his own shirt and did the same mark on his own chest. "Allow my son to live on his own, remove thy spell I placed on thee." His words were soft, he was hoping the drug was still working. Covering Nagi's wrist with gazz, he made sure that it stopped bleeding too. "From these marks, now undo, give him a life that is true."
He heard a faint moan, Nagi was waking, he felt his connection to his son starting to melt away. The removal spell was done, that was he hoped, that was when he noticed something was utterly wrong with Nagi. He heard the faint gasping coming from the boy's lips. Putting the resperator in place, he made sure there was some fresh oxygen in the boy's lungs. "Nagi!"
Nagi's eyes opened and his eyes were bright red, items started to lift up, a scalple went into the wall next Muraki's head. "Stop, calm down!" Reaching out, he attempted to calm the boy down, but realized, it wasn't Nagi doing this, he turned to find something to control or at least keep the boy from going into shock. He reached out onto his table to find a needle, he looked around for a bottle that simply read: Naoe Nagi, anti-toxin. He put it into the drip of the IV and felt Nagi slowly go limp in his grasp, shutting his eyes.
Clothing his son again, Muraki wheeled the boy from the room and into a bedroom. He hoped that he did not have to work too hard to keep the boy from dying on him. You spent all your life killing people, now you choose to not kill? Looking up, he found Schuldich standing there staring at him.
"You hardly understand what I did to save him, Schuldich," Muraki's voice was cool. "Do you remember what it was like for you? All those voices in your head, all those times you thought you were insane?"
The German glared at him. "It didn't give you the right..."
"If I didn't put that Ridlin in your system, you would be strung out on who knows what. I saved your life, Schuldich, you may not think so, but I did!" Muraki's hands were on Nagi's forehead. "I am saving my son!"
"You are so selfish," Schuldich sat down and held Nagi's left hand. "You weren't there when he had his seizures or when he gets a cold. You never had to comfort him when he is sad and people make fun of him for being different. I have been there with him, even at Rozen Kreuz."
Muraki just sat down, he had no more energy. "You don't know why, do you? Why I cast the spell on him? You walked in on the first spell, you couldn't see the red markings I gave my child." His eyes never left Nagi's face. "He looks just like, just like his mother. I put that spell on my son to save him from death. Eszette didn't want a Telekenitic, they wanted something like Crawford. When I couldn't deliver, they poisoned him."
He isn't lying, Schuldich scanned his mind, the day he had walked into Muraki's lab, he remembered now. Muraki was crying.
** Ten Years Ago **
"Nagi, wake up!" Muraki stood over his son, he rocked the boy gently, but the boy wouldn't open his eyes. He fumbled around the room, he found the spell book, the one he stole from the library, he flipped to through the pages to find the right spell. He cut his wrist and traced a marking on the boy's wrist. "Num, soku, della, nor!" his words were soft and commanding.
Nagi started to breath slowly, he looked up at Schuldich entered for his treatment. "Dr. Muraki, you're bleeding," the boy looked at him with dark green eyes.
"Just forget what you saw," Muraki commanded and went to give the boy his medication. "Now get out of here."
The doctor went back to the spell book. "To seal the spell, a life should be taken." He hadn't thought about it, in fact he had done this at the last minute and his chance walked out the door. He looked out and saw Helme and another teacher talking.
"I know," Helme was smiling. "I had to put the poison in myself, I kind of felt bad, the child had such potential, but the elders didn't want a TK."
Another teacher just nodded and walked on. They did this to him! Rage filled Muraki as he walked up to Helme. "I need your assistance with Nagi's body, could you come in here?"
"He's small enough, why do you need my help?" Helme sighed and walked into the room, he had no idea what was happening. Turning around, when the door shut, he was unaware of the knife going right into his chest. He fell to the ground just as a strange white mist came from him and went into Nagi's small form.
Muraki stood there and stared at the body, he now had to get rid of it. Turning around he saw Nagi sitting up and staring at him. "Chichi?"
"Nagi, be a good boy go get your clothes."
** Present **
Nagi was stiring in the other room, he heard the sound of Schuldich talking, but he couldn't do anything.
