Friend
Once you walked with me
In a valley filled with angels
And by that you walk with me still
You stood by me in the garden of night
You helped me through my helpless plight
Although the laughter has left my halls
I could almost wish those days back
But deep within a lost memory
I know it cannot come to pass
I am happy that you were there
To guide me through it all
Even if I can no longer go to you
But at the very least you have given me
A way of life to uphold
And that to me is of greater worth
And with that I know
I can still call you friend
