I have two eyes,
two ears, and a mouth.

Two arms at my sides,
two legs growing south.

Two feet and two hands,
A brain in my head.

A torso with lungs
That will pump till I'm dead.

I'm almost complete,
But surely you'll start

Press your hand on my chest,
You'll find I've no heart.

My blood is still pumping,
The beating's the same,

But on my left breast,
You'll find a cold chain.

The chain is of metal,
Cold, hard, bleak;

I've sought out its source,
But I continue to seek.

It binds me to somewhere,
That much I can feel.

For someone is tugging,
And I'm forced to kneel-

To bow to a power
That I cannot see

A power that's dark
And controlling me.

When my nameless master
Gives it a pull,

I can feel the chain grab me
And pull at my soul.

The tug seems so eager,
As if he can't wait,

As if he has gone fishing,
And I am the bait.

But I was the one
Who snapped at the line

That held promises too sweet
To just leave behind.

And now I am dangling,
By a hole in my chest

With a chain where my heart
Used to beat in my breast.

I fell for its charms,
Gave in just to see

And now I regret it,
For I've lost part of me.

So I warn you, ye chaste,
Though temptation is great,

Just turn away now,
Before it's too late.
