The sky screams
And the rain falls down
Like silent tears
They fall on a desolate town
This sad place that
Chills me to the bone
Filled with pain and regret
This place is your home
You live here
In silent pain
Invisible tear tracks on you face
Leaving no evidence of rain
A war was fought and lost
Upon this forsaken ground
For nothing but bitter refusals
That alone built this town
The dogs here are starved
And no longer howl at the night
There are no people who have a will
Not even the weeds are willing to fight
You sit on you stone cold throne
As if in silent prayer
Holding onto your regrets and shame
It’s all held in your frigid stare
How can eyes as black as yours
Still seem as cold and pit less as ice?
How can you still be able to live
Knowing all you have sacrificed
It wasn’t fair for them to laugh
Then blithely push you aside
No ‘thank you’ was ever given
Even though you almost died
I don’t care what you say
You don’t deserve this cold
I don’t give a damn about
When you said your soul was sold
You say you don’t deserve
To live or even be loved
You say all the things you did
Can never be absolved
You are my darkness
My reason to be light
I don’t care what you believe
I refuse to give you up without a fight
