My arm still hurts. Evil flu shots!! I hate needles with a passion! As proof yesterday my mom has to physically hold me down in the chair as I jumped and tried to run away while the woman was asking questions to my dad. What was really annoying was how my mom speically said, "Can you hurry and do her cause she freaks." I don't think she believed my mom when I sat down and told her that though I was every twitchy. She did beleive my mom finally when I tried to run, and trust me I TRIED! There are reasons why my mom came even though she already had her's. To make sure I did get it!
Now, I suppose I should feel lucky about getting my flu shot. At the clinic yesterday there was a family of three from the USA who got turned away cause they did not live in Ontario, and only Ontario citzens (unless able to give good reason such as just moved, or hear for work etc) are able to get the flu shot. I hear that the shortage in the USA is causing somewhat of a panic and people are paying as much as $90 for a shot!!! Now for that to me, a Canadian where in my province the shot is free is crazy!
Acutally, there was something funny in the newspapers this past week. A lot of Americans, especially thoses in the Democratic states that voted for Kerry want to come to Canada, and there was a funny map in the papers. The west coat states and New York I think from the map, (bare with me if I get some states wrong. I'm Canadian, I know provinces not states) basically joined Canada to form "The United States of Canada" (though my mom pointed out it should be the United Provinces Of Canada and not states, or it you want to get more techical, United Provinces and Territories of Canada) and what use to be the USA would be renamed and become Jeusland. And let me tell you, everyone up here thinks such and idea is hillarious.
What is also pretty funny, is people really are conisdering moving to Canada from the USA. Within hours of Kerry concedding to Bush the Immigration Canada website recived thousands of hits from people in America looking up more than just then just the FAQ page, but qualifications for something that has compeletly slipped my mind at the moment...oh well. Martin specially stated that all Amercians are welcome to move up to Canada! But at the same time, no special treatment will be made for those that acutally do move. You will still have to wait the 6months to 1 year waiting period. We still got our quoats and such to consider.
Oh well, I think the whole thing is kinda funny. But if you don't mind our winters those in California welcome! You only feel the cold for the frist week, then its shorts and t-shirts!
