Well, the results are in. Finally after being bombarded with polls, news, and more information given in newspapers than our own election this past summer. The United States of America Presidential Election is over, and Bush is back in the house.
I have to admit to breathing a huge sigh of relief when it came to election. I tell you, I could almost name more senators then MPs now. That relief however, turned into disappointment when Senator John Kerry conceded to defeat after saying numerous times that he would fight till each vote was counted but gave up after only hours.
Now, I do suppose it was a hopeless cause for Kerry. He did lose the popularity vote, and votes for the Senate and House. But he would not quit till all the votes in Ohio were counted. Oh well, there are more important matters to think of now. Like what is Bush going to do now he has been re-elected?
For one thing, there is still that war of his going on. With the growing number of casualties in Iraq, a possible draft is in the question. So much so, that a friend of mine in the USA asked if he could come live in my basement while another joked about a sudden rise of New Canadians from the South (ie. The USA). They don't want to contribute to Bush's War on Terrorism. It's like the Energizer Bunny: It keeps going and going and going...
That reminds me, whatever happened to Osama? Isn't he the reason why this whole war thing started? Iraq was supposed to have been in line with al-Queda and have "Weapons of Mass Destruction"? I think they gave up on trying to prove those two things.
Either way, intermission between act one and act two of Bush's White House Play is over and act two is about to start, and the real question is: Do I want to stick around?
