Wow, it's been a few months since my last entry.
SO.
I made it into the Governor's School. I'm gonna get to live and go to school there in August, and I can't wait! A girl named Shirley, who also made it into visual arts, contacted me on DeviantArt, and I've been talking to her occasionally. I actually had the chance to meet her in person when there was an orientation being held on the campus. I saw her a few times, but I never got the courage to actually say 'hello'. I guess I'll have plenty of time in August.
Anyway, because I got in, my life is going to become more independent from now on, and a lot of changes need to and have already taken place. Unfortunately, time management is not among those changes. However, I now have my own checking account. My first deposit was $400 dollars from a state-wide contest I won in May. It was the Salute to Manufacturing design competition, and I won first place in the T-Shirt design contest, which was for the high school grade level. I haven't had a chance to use my debit card yet. The reason for this account is because I can no longer depend on my parents to buy what I need (although they'll still be the ones to supply actual money until I'm making my own). I'm one of the luckier people, actually, as I'll only be living one county away from my friends and family, but they still can't be around all the time to help me out. I hope I can be responsible by myself like that.
So, this school year ended with May, and my report card for the semester was good, and my GPA is up. My lowest grade overall was a C in English. I still REALLY wish I could bring that up somehow, but there's no need in going to summer school. I haven't been doing much at all so far this summer. The only things I really need to do are draw and read. Neither of which I have covered. See? Time management. :
I've been playing video games like there's no tomorrow though. Final Fantasy VII, Pokemon, Legend of Zelda, Kingdom Hearts, Okami, etc. And I'm going to be getting more for my birthday. I'll be turning sixteen in two days (26 June). My mom wanted to do something special, so we planned a party, but almost no one I've invited can come. All of my other friends are either working or on vacation. My brother has a similar problem, but the cause is usually an ice storm instead. I still haven't asked one person, Laura, but I'm having the same problem I had with Shirley. I won't try to act like I'm not disappointed; it makes me REALLY sad that I won't be able to see some of my best friends this summer after all. I am looking forward to seeing if my dad managed to find a working and legitimate copy of the FFVII Original Soundtrack without my help though.
Uh, anyway, that's all. There's still a few things I'm looking forward to this summer. I won't get to go to Florida with Katt. I will be going to Lake Hartwell for Independence Day with about twenty of my relatives from my dad's side and about ten people I'm not related to. None of my friends will be going with me to that either, but I will have my cousins Brittney and Elisabeth, who're just as good as my best friends.
