5/1/08 the box of Infinite knowledge
Tired of this filthy habit,
Trying to let it go is no easy task,
Suppose to bring me happiness,
So it says on the box,
So misleading and yet so misunderstood,
I sit and wonder if it’ll work,
I stare into space,
Letting myself drift away
To return to an empty box,
My eyes faded in and out,
I second guess every conclusion
My mind has made,
Nothing seems right and nothing seems wrong,
Is it just me or has my mind gone?
Did it get swept away during spring cleaning?
Or did it just fade way when I did?
Is this me?
The box says so,
But what all does the box know?
Infinite knowledge I don’t think so,
I read it again
Maybe if I hit it again it’ll answer my question,
I hit it hard and watch it fall,
I ask my question and hear nothing at all,
I try again slowly losing hope,
My box is breaking,
And I haven’t even had the chance to look inside,
I held it to the light
And strained my eyes to see,
That my box had opened,
Inside was the answer to my question,
Inside was me.
