So um.... probably people have been wondering what happened to me. I'll try to give a brief summary here....
#1 The hard drive on my laptop died around the beginning of April. April 3rd, to be exact. ><;;;;; This was complete and utter drive failure with no data recovery possible. gonk
#2 I had a backup, but it was from March 1st, and I FAILED as a mac user, didn't realize many of my most important files would be in the library folder and failed to back it up. Lost: Address book/all contact information other than phone numbers (which were in my phone), Bookmarks, e-mail files, IM logs.... everything application related, basically. x_x; gonk gonk
#3 Got my laptop up and running again a week and a half later on a new hard drive, then commenced the process of trying to re-create things...
*re-downloaded over 7,000 e-mails from my G-mail account and proceeded to spend most of a day creating rules trying to sort enough of them to make sense of things.
*re-installed most software on the computer and started re-creating settings.
*transferred what -was- backed up onto the new drive.

#4 =) A couple days after I finished transferring all the backup data back to my laptop, the external drive died. ><;;;;;;;;; I hadn't had it for very long, so I'm in-process for sending it back to the manufacturer to be replaced. stare

#5 Once the laptop was up and running again, aside from the time needed to get my system up and running again, I was also 3 weeks behind on Fanime issues, with deadlines fast approaching for the program guide, scheduling, staffing, etc. gonk gonk gonk
So.... this is literally the first chance I've had to come on and make a journal update. ^^;; I'm mostly caught up with fanime issues for now. I still have over 2,000 e-mails in my inbox - I was sorting more this evening and came to make this entry to take a break from it.

@_@;; I won't really have time to finish restoring my system and try to re-enter/collect contact information, re-create bookmarks, etc... until after Fanime at the end of this month.
Ironically, at least two people I know had their hard drives die on them between now and when my drive died. @_@;; Is this getting to be a more common thing?
Okay... back to sorting e-mail now. ><;;;;;;
