{.An Rp that might/ might not happen.}
She stared up towards the ceiling, her mind drifting in a sea of worries. She raises her hand towards the ciggarette dangling from her mouth. Tapping it on the edge of the ashtray, her gaze slowly drew back down to the gun in her lap. She was underground in the shooting range, sitting, with folded legs, on one of the shooting counters. She rose the cig back to her lips, taking apart the gun once again, slowly, as if in a trance. She had been doing this for hours, always replacing the gun back into her lap. A tear fell from her eye numbly, sniffing and holding the gun in hand. The vampire ground the ciggerette to ash, a twinge in her ear betraying the footsteps of an approaching man.
She prepared the barrel, calling out in a "strong" voice.
"Who's there?" she called, wiping her cheek with the back of her hand that held the gun.
"It's me...Damian..."came the reply, opening the door and stepping in.
Her gray eyes widened and she clenched the gun, a sudden, uneasy fear coating her eyes. "Damian? What are you doing here?"
Taken by surprise, he replied incredulously. "You've disapeared since midnight...I came to find you."
"Good, you found me...now you can leave." She felt another rush of tears come to her eyes. She didn't want to have to explain herself.
"Audrey...you're crying. What's the matter?" he concernedly took a few steps forward, halting when she raised the gun, firing off her only shot. It barely missed his head. She fired out the order again, "I said get out of here, Damian!"
He raised his hands in a truce-like manner, coming towards her slowly. Her tears made him want to help, so he still persisted. "Audrey...I understand you're upset--he pushed the empty gun away from him--but please...let me help." He hugged her tightly, feeling her cold skin. She sniffled once, trembling. She put the gun on the counter, her hand snaking up his chest and to his neck. She gripped his neck, pushing him back. His back was against the thick divider between shooting counters. Golden eyes gleamed at him.
"You want to know what's wrong with me, doll?" Her face was barely an inch from his. "Well, she felt a wee bit depressed and wanted to come down and shoot up a few things. Bang up a few things." Damian felt the chokehold tighten but he did nothing. "So...did you come down to bang up a few things, doll? I'm sure we could bang together and she wouldn't have to find out." Her fangs glinted in deadly points. She smiled voraciously, her frip loosening. A sharp finger pushed against his jaw, his neck straining as he regained his breath. His neck was slightly sticky with sweat, watching what she was doing.
Maia leaned closer to him, following to his neck. The gun was pressed to the counter under her free hand, her finger on the trigger even though it was empty. This was why Audrey didn't want him coming close to her, Maia would somehow find a chance to escape. "You look absolutely delicious tonight," she whispered, nuzzling his neck. His muscles tightened, anxiety causing him to squirm. He remembered his last encounter with her...very well. She laughed softly, amusedly. "I told you, doll. She doesn't even have to know."
Damian wriggled more. "Aud...Audrey! Stop! This isn't you...Audrey!"
Maia opened up, but with a change, pulled away before her fangs could seep into his flesh. Audrey sat back, feeling Maia's blood lust disapating. Damian sighed in relief, dragging his fingers through his hair. A tense silence suffocated the air.
"Audrey...?"
She glanced in his direction but looked away. " I told you...not to come near me."
She crossed her legs, leaning on one knee and rubbing her throbbing head. Damian's eyes softened, wrenching the gun easily from her hand. He tried to find something to say but just sat opposite of her, staring at her even though she didn't want to look back. He watched her, noticing the small ashtray next to her.
"You...smoke...?"
"No...but there are many ways to keep Maia satisfied when I don't want her coming out. Keeps her sedated, won't come out as often," she explained boredly, tugging on the edges of her hair.
"I see."
Another dead silence choked them. Audrey shifted slightly, needing to fess up. "She's gone, Damian...and I won't see her again for a long time."
Damian scooted closer, reaching out for her hand though she drew away. Somehow, he just pulled her to him, resting in his lap. Tears puddled onto his shirt with his embrace. The crucenix felt the vampire crumple in his arms when he always saw his commander to be so strong.
"This is no place for a child like her."
She closed her eyes, his hands stroking her head.
"Charlotte, my darling...she's gone."
He paused grabbing her hand. "It's the right thing to do."
She closed her heavy eyes. "Is it?"
