I was dreaming about my guild...again.

She used her forearm to stand, panting.
"Are you okay?" Came a familiar voice, putting a hand on her shoulder.
She shrugged him off hurriedly. "I can handle myself..." she lied, her legs shaking making it even harder for her to stand. She reached out with a gloved hand for his shoulder but her hand slid until she had to sit down against the sewer wall. The faint pounding of the music from the rave started to fade away. She tried to regain her breath and felt the familiar prescence again.
"No, Maia...you can't..." He said, crouching in front of her and looking at her other gloved hand. "Let me take a look at it."
She protested trying to get up. "I don't have time for this I have to keep moving..."
He pushed her back he grabbed her other uninjured forearm and pushed it against the wall by her head. "He's dead...you're safe for now."
"But his other followers----"
"Cut the head off the snake and the rest goes away..."
She tried to stand again but he pushed her back against the sewer wall so that she wouldn't move. "Maia, you've lost a lot of blood beause of that hole in your hand...you need to let me have a look at it."
"I'm fine, just don't---"
He pushed her back again, harder than before and he yelled. "No you're not okay!"
Maia's eyes were defiant but she said nothing else for now. She winced at the sting in her back, the air stuffy with him so close to her. After the pause, the werewolf growled, "You want to say something to me, doll?"
The man looked back for a moment, sighing and looking into her intense glare. "You think that you can handle yourself...because you've been doing it for all of your life and you won't let anyone help you. You won't let me help you. You're arrogant and cocky and it almost got you killed when you should've kept your mouth shut...He only kept you alive enough so he could torture you more and rape you if you didn't do what he wanted. The world is not wrapped around your finger as you think it is."
Maia's expression softened just a fraction. "So what are you saying...Damian?"
Damian continued, licking his dry lips. "I'm saying that you need to be more careful! I risked my life trying to save you and you can't go off trying to get yourself killed." He drew slightly closer. "The woman I fell in love with..." He glanced down at her lips. "I can't lose her. You...I can't lose you."
After a simple moment of consideration, Maia raised her hand for him to see. "Just get it over with..." She mumbled, turning her face away to show her neck that was also sticky with sweat.
He grabbed her hand and removed the glove and seeing the bandage beneath it. He sighed slightly, slowly removing the bandages and seeing the slightly healed up hole. Damian looked up at her because Maia didn't want to look to lessen the pain. "He didn't drug you as much did he? Because it's healed."
"He did...when he..." She trailed off not saying much more. "I refused but I had no choice..." Her voice was weak. "Because he would've sent someone back to the shack to murder you."
Anger welled up inside of him until. "Too bad I killed him first."
He kissed her hand and it slowly began burning the skin over her hand, carterizing the wound. She gritted her teeth in pain and he hugged her tightly against him. She scratched down his back but not even leaving scratches in his clothing, waiting for the pain to subside. She didn't drink even though she should've. Damian closed his eyes letting her scream even if it wasn't outloud. "Dammit..." she grunted, breathing heavily again. It took her a few minutes before she was finally able to stand again. Damian tried to stop her but she pushed him away if he tried. She sighed, biting her lip before muttering. "I didn't lose them..."
Puzzled, he looked at her. "Lose what?"
She stared at him, her golden eyes dulled over with a sort of hatred and yet relief. "Them."
