“Jonathan, aren’t you supposed to be on the Harper case?” Dan asks facing the newcomer and looking him in the eye.
“Just finished it this morning, now I’m over seeing this case.” He answered as he looks himself at the young lady in the room in front of him. “She’s a looker, don’t get stupid about her, it’s always the pretty ones that’ll screw you over.” With that he turned and walked away leaving the two officers to their business.
“Wonder what’s made him so cynical towards women?” Steve asks watching as Jonathan turns the corner and disappears out of sight.
“He probably hasn’t been laid in months, don’t worry about him. About the girl, we’re running out of days and reasons to keep her locked up.” Dan states as he glances at the clipboard hanging on the wall next to the door. The girl had been in custody for five days now. How the law had managed to keep her in custody for that long was a mystery.
“So I’m told. The thing I worry about is if she will be in danger if we release her, or if she will become dangerous to us when she realizes she’s free. Besides, what it looks like from that record of previous interviews with her, no one thought to talk about the second dead man found in the park.” Steve says thoughtfully as he paces back and forth in the tiny hallway.
“We’ll ask her about the second guy then let her go, and when she’s free we’ll assign a few guys to keep a watchful eye on her in case she does anything strange. That’s all we can do for now.” Dan placed the clipboard back on the nail in the wall.
“I’ll get the permission to do so. I’ll see you later.” Steve turned and walked out of the hallway leaving Dan still standing outside the interrogation chamber. With a deep breath he opened the door and stepped back inside.
“I realize that this has been a tough week for you Miss Carrington, being here and talking to so many officers, so I’m just going to ask you a few more questions okay?” Bliss’s eyes went to the cop and nodded her head. The man in the corner said nothing but sat strait up and looked Dan in the eyes. Dan nodded and the psychiatrist left the room, leaving Bliss and Officer Dan alone.
“What can you tell me about the other man that was found dead in the park?” Dan started, sitting in the chair on the other side of the table.
“ I don’t know who he was.” She replied and her eyes started to mist up.
