“You think she’s telling the truth Dan?”
Dan sighed. “I don’t know, I sent a call to the men in the crime scene to keep an eye out for one. We already have the proof to identify him as the reaper.” Dan states as he turns to his partner. Steve stood there silent, staring at the girl though the one way mirror. The reaper was the code name Keith Thomason had been using for years, although, until his death no one was able to identify who it was, until a sloppy job left a fingerprint and a dead body matched it.
“ The description fits and the fingerprints match, but if all transactions were dealt by phone it would be really helpful to us. That is, if we can get a hold of the phone.” Steve replied tearing his eyes away from the girl inside. “But I still think she knows more than what she’s telling us.”
“I agree, however, I don’t think she would even realize that she has more information to give us. I honestly don’t think she has a clue about his little operation. Think we should bring the sister down?” The question hung between them as they returned their focus to the girl that sat silently in the room before them. ‘She couldn’t be more than seventeen.’ Dan thought as he leaned against the window. She was a pretty sight, but she could also be an accomplice to the man that now lay in the coroner’s office too. It’s always the gorgeous women that turn out to be the culprit now-a-days. They have the motive, the looks of innocence, and the knowledge of what they could achieve with their looks that made interrogation so tough. However, this girl made the hair on the back of his neck raise just a bit. There was just something that was different about her that set her apart from the others. He shook his head.
“She seems different doesn’t she.” Steve mused out loud, jolting Steve out of his temporary daze. “ Almost as though she has no clue the man she’s been living with is a cold hard killer. In fact she seems to idolize him,”
“Or be in love with him.” Dan finished as they continued to look at the girl. If she was indeed in love with the guy, that would have given her a motive to mislead the police force, should the tip on the cell phone prove to be false. “But no, I don’t think it would be necessary to bring the sister in just yet. Not until we can get all the information we can outta this one.”
“Is she the one?” A third man asks as he approaches the two police offers standing by the one way looking glass.
