This Tree

Walking
Searching
Wondering
Unknown thoughts
Loud shots
A sudden disturbance within her domain...
She screams
She moans
She wails
This tree
Where art thou?
This scent is so familiar
And yet it is so new
It brings a new feeling when inhaled
The rope
The branch
The blood
This tree
Where art thou?
Her domain is ready for slumber
Her moon feels the pain as well
It brings a feeling of being someplace worse than hell
The body
The damage
The regret
The blood is on my hands
The pain is in her domain
These memories fade away like desert sands
This tree
Where art thou?
I look up
My eyes deceive me!
There her body hangs
From the bloody tree
I feel a tight grasp on my hand
Blood trickling down my fingertips
Her frail lifeless eyes stare into mine
I see her smile
I see her cry
I see her heart begin to shine
This tree
Where art thou?
I back away from this insanity
I lean against the bloody tree
I put the gun to my head
The trigger is pulled
My life flashes before my eyes
No longer will I have to relive these lies...
