My head scrambled as I felt my dreams worsen. I remember seeing fire and blood and innocent members of my race being burned alive. I felt tears well in my eyes as I noticed that the blood and fire was surrounding the bodies of my dead parents. I sank to my knees and screamed.

I opened my eyes and stared at what appeared to be a basement ceiling. I was laying in the middle of a cold, dark cellar that I'd never seen before. I started to think that I had been captured by those weird men and forced into captivity, when Illia decended the stairs and ran up to me, hugging me tightly around the neck, tears pouring from her eyes. "Lokai!" She screamed, burying her nose deep into my fur, "They're dead! We havent found any adults! Ryudo's, Kolt's and my parents are all dead!" She looked up at me and hugged me tighter. "What about you?" She said sniffeling and wiping her nose on her arm-fur. "Are you okay? You looked really puffy when we grabbed you from the school..." I tried standing up, only to recieve an explosive headache. I screamed and knelt down, clutching my head in my paws. "Damn," I said aloud, "Illia, please get me something for my head..." "Lokai..." She said in a tone that sounded as if she were afraid to leave me,"Lokai, please, just lay down." I lay my head back and stared once again at the bleak ceiling. My body suddenly pulsated with heat and I began to sweat. "What...What's happening?" I said aloud, weakly. I moved my paw up to the place of entry of the dart on my body and noticed that a huge lump had grown where the toxin entered. What was happening? Once again, my body pulsated in heat and my head pounded with every sound that came to my delicate ears. "Illia...please...help me..." My eyes began to close as I felt weaker and weaker by the second. The last thing I saw coming down the stairs was Kolt and Illia carrying a huge lump of gray fur that was Ryudo. They lay him next to me and I noticed why he hadn't come down himself. 3 darts were respectivly in his chest, right leg and left arm. "Ryu...do..." was all I coudl say before falling again into the hellish nitghtmare that was my sleep.

I can;t remember anything that happened then, but I remember waking up to Kolt putting a cold cloth over my eyes. I coulden't see so I lay there, lisitning to Illia crying in the corner and Kolt talking. "Lokai...Ryudo...You guys are the greatest...you both protected us from getting hurt...I don't know where we'd be without you both right now..." He said. He must have started crying because I remember hearing sniffling and whining.

I coulden't stand to see Illia and Kolt suffer like this. Slowly I removed the cloth from my eyes and sat up. This time, though, there was no pain. The poisen must have worked itself out of my system. I tried to stand up, but coulden't life Illia and Kolt off of me. "Lokai!" They had both began shouting, "You're okay! I thought you..." Illia had began crying into my shoulder. I pushed her off of my shoulder and wiped her tears off. "Illia, tell me what's going on. I wanna know everything you do." I exclaimed to her, now fearing for the worst. "Lokai..." She said looking up at me, tears streaming down her cheeks. "All the grown up's are gone...we don;t know how many people had come into our town, but I coulden't find anyone else...It's like everyone's just gone..." Illia said. Without hesitation, I stood up, my legs were shaky from being incapacitated for so long. I walked up the stairs and found that we had been under what remained of Kolt's home. But what was left wasn't much. It was as if the people had taked everything; the walls and floor were completly bare. Slowly, I walked towards the door, touching the handle and pulling it open, all very slowly. What I saw, I'll never forget. Blood, bodies, fur, and friends littered the corners of streets. My heart began to race. Mom...Dad...I began running as fast as I could to get back home.

Running down my street, I turned away as I say my neighbors were executed in their front yard. Stopping for only a moment to catch my breath, I opened the door. "Mom...Dad...anyone home?" I said, trying to forget the nightmare that was only beyond my front door. I walked though the house. Upstairs, then downstairs without finding them. Then,slowly, I made my way towards the basement, but turned back as I saw what I had hoped not to see waiting for me at the bottom of the stairs. they had been embraced in one final hug before their end. Closing the door and sinking to my knees, I felt all emotions leave me faster than anything I've ever felt before. But, then, one by one, they came back, filling my min with anger, hatred, sorrow, anguish, and despise. Forgetting that I had ever seen them, I walked outside of my house and back to Kolt's, where Illia and Kolt had been waiting for me. "Lokai...I'm sorry, we checked before and..." Kolt, tried to say, but I interrupted, "Forget about it. Kolt. theres something I have to ask you...
