Okay, this poem requires some explaning. Basically, in this Advanced Composition class we had to write an Old English poem. In addition to some stylistic stuff (a particular rhythm, lack of rhyme, certain patterns of alliteration) we had a list of common Old English themes. Battle, blood, battle, gore, battle, Vikings, battle, death, battle... Do you see where I am going with this? So being the crazy person I am, I thought of...
CUCCOS! Chickens of Doom!
In a far distant land lurks a fearsome evil
Stalking the corners of castles and farms
With beady black eyes. Beware its great power!
At the sound of its anger all enemies quail.
Our hero advances, arsenal at the ready;
Grand is his armor and great is his cause!
A mythical sword and shield does he brandish;
No battle-cry given. No backing down now!
The enemy squawks and scratches the ground.
One, two, three! Terrible blows from the sword.
Undaunted, the chicken the hero's head strikes,
A hail of white feathers all he can now see.
The chicken crows thrice, calling for vengeance.
A storm of the fowl, frightful bringers of pain,
Descend from the skies; doom and suffering they bring.
Our valiant hero, his end draws nigh.
The stalwart sword bearer, battered and weary,
Feels the brutal claws draw blood, and he falls.
Let this be a lesson: leave poultry alone
Lest the terrible birds turn their attention to you!

Exploding Sock Puppets and Other Weaponry
Actually, you will probably see no sock puppets of any sort anywhere in my journal. Unless they are the Potter Puppet Pals, who rock. However, you WILL see pyromania, eldritch creatures, rants, poetry, and general madness.
