I've had recent oral surgery.Aaaand......my jaw hurts like hell. The first time(O.o -le gasp-you got surgery twice?!)was okay.Everything went just like it was supposed to...until I woke up from the anesthesia(sp?).My jaw almost immediately slipped and slid over to the right. The surgeon noticed it,but didn't think much of it,thought I'd be able to fix it on my own,so he let me go home after stayin' overnight in the hospital.Oh,by the way,it would've been so much cooler if I didn't have the IV needle in my arm, keeping my arm straight, and if I wasn't wakin' up constantly in the middle of the night.Aaaanyway,I was pretty okay at home.I could take the pain pills and the antibiotic pills like a champ,I could eat relatively soft foods, and life was good.BUT when I went in for my check-up,the surgeon said that my jaw had slipped, and he'd have to go into surgery again to fix it,and he was bein' a little too hopeful in thinkin' that he wouldn't have to wire my mouth shut.I was pissed.I didn't wanna get another IV,I didn't want to have to be cut open again. They said that they were going to do the surgery that day.Oh,I was very much not happy. If everything had been alright,I would've probably gone to school this week. But no.
Back at the hospital(again),they stick the IV in my hand.Eh,that wasn't too bad, until another nurse came in and said that she needed to draw blood. She had to stick me twice in the left arm,cuz the first time she missed the vein.(haha,sucker.>w< wink The second time, she got it,and she took two vial thingys of blood, and left. Not too much long after, the surgeon's assistant(He was kinda loud...>w< wink said it was time to wheel me down to the OR.(the same one they used last time!!O.o)When they were bundling me up like an Eskimo, the IV was in the vein on the inner side of the hand, just below my palm, and they kinda forced my hand under my blanket. That pushed the needle deeper into my hand, and it HURT LIKE HELL!!!I let out a little squeak, and the surgeon's assistant had to hold my hand.(the anesthesiologist(sp?) said that the IV wasn't getting the fluids into me)Soon,I was asleep.Yay....I woke up not too long after, and I noticed the IV was in the back of my hand.Hmmm...they moved it while I was asleep.O.o So,not much later,I was actually awake(not the kind of sleepy awake that I was before),and in my little recovery room. The nurse asked me if I had to pee(I did),and afterwards she let me get dressed to go home. She took out the IV,and I started getting dressed.I was pulling my bra straps on,and I happened to glance at my hand. The gauze was all bloody, and I freaked out.My mom called the nurse(after my mom helped me into my shirt)and got the gauze changed out.The nurse explained that sometimes that will happen, that I was up and moving a little too quickly, and the blood didn't clot too well.
Eh,I hate being wired shut.I absolutely hate it.My ears hurt, probably cuz I put them in water, and now(three days later)it hurts.I have to take liquid pain meds and liquid antibiotics. The antibiotics don't taste that bad,but the pain meds taste NASTEH!!!
