What happened on my trip with Melissa to the Smithsonian Museum of Natural History~
I awoke at my friend's house, yesterday morn. I all set to journey to The Smithsonian with my friend and co-worker, Melissa. At first, all was well. We met in the Dollar Tree parking lot and got into Harriet (my car). Mildred (Melissa's car) is an old bitty and we didn't think she would make it all the way to New Carleton. As we drove along 301 we listened to a fantastic Guns and Rose's cassette, when all of a sudden we see this car pull up aside of us and stay there, not passing. Melissa gestured over to me to look at them. The driver and his wife we're waving at us to pull over to the side of the road, mouthing with their mouth "FLAT".
We thought they meant they were the ones with the flat. After pulling over the man walked up to our window and said, "Don't you feel it? You have a flat." MY first thought was 'Sweet merciful Jesus. What am I going to do? I can't ask Melly Mell to change my tire and I sure as hell have no clue how to. '~''. Thank the gawds, the man was a construction worker and offered to change it for us. I was so thankful. He and his wife were very kind to sacrifice the warm sanctity of their car to help two strangers with a tire.
After calling my Mom (women whom I stay with who is super auto savvy), Mell and I turned and went back to Middletown and had my tire changed. $72 crying It hurt my money, to say the least. After being eyed by some strange skunk haired man, Mell and I left for the New Carleton Station~! We got there easy enough and wound up parking right on the rough. Fun, fun. When we went to buy our tickets there were these large vending machine type machines that when you put in a certain amount of money a fare card would pop out. It was fairly convenient and efficient, if you knew how to use it stressed
Once we deciphered the mystery of the vending machine crisis, we made it to the train and set off. I was actually really fun. There was plenty of room and Mell just talked to me the whole time about odd and random things. Time went by quickly, and we arrived at the Smithsonian. I was so surprised that it could be so easy to make such a fun trip.
After spending the whole day gawking at the super special awesome dinosaur exhibit we began to run around to each museum, looking for pressed penny machines. I got so many new ones. Even one with a dimetradon~!!! (My absolute favorite dinosaur xD)
However, once we got back to the parking structure, we were met with a confusing maze of dark major highways and half hidden signs. We managed to make it to one major road, but the second we were on it there had been an accident and we were forced to run amuck through the never ending labyrinth of exits. For a while, we blindly fallowed cars and found our way to a shopping center. Mell was a little flustered and I was trying hard not to fall asleep. She suggested we get the address to the major store where we were. BRILLENCE~!! She called up her mother with the address and she gave us directions to home. It was really weird how close we we're to where we need to go and how easy it was to find it. But, in the end, we returned safely to Middletown. Melissa, with her mammoth picture, and me, with my dimetradon penny. :3
