My adventures at Otakon were large and grand in numbers~!!!
It all began Friday morning. I woke up at Rini’s, after spending the night and started to get into my first costume, Aluminum Siren. I knew the moment I started using the ‘fashion tape’ it was going to be a long, long day. Futch happened to arrive just I was getting into my uni-tarded (skin colored suit). Sorry Futch ^^;;. We loaded everything up in the car and set off for Otakon~! We got there just as they were getting ready to open the doors. We met a chick in line that was a big Jrock fan and I found myself chatting away with her the whole time. Ever so often, we would get someone who wanted our picture. So I had to put on my white stilettos. I was to much of a wimp to wear mine all day and constantly walked around without shoes. However, Rini, who has the pain threshold of an Ox, wore hers all day without crying or complaining once. We walked all around the fountains and got lost numerous times in the dealers room. Futch and I sometimes gallivanted ahead of poor Rini and her dad, looking at all the super-cool-neon-colored thingies. By two o’clock, Futch, Rini and I decided that I would run with her dad to the hotel, get changed and return so that Futch and I could wait in the AAA concert line. Our trip, that was only suppose to take half and hour, took at least an hour and a half. I returned in more comfortable clothes and went with Futch to the AAA line. The next forty five minutes passed so quickly. Futch and I spent the whole time rapping dancing and deciding whether or not to call AAA “Triple A” or ”Aaaaaaaah” xD (I don’t mean to offend any AAA fans). We met and adult pickachu and his wife, who was certain I was on medication. We also met a guy named Corio, whom we rap’d about “K-k-k-kooooooreo~”. I also met this super sweet girl named, Nicely. We all sat together in the stadium and that is where Futch, Nicely and I created a love note for AAA that I hide in my wig cap and vowed to throw to them during the third song. It was a long wait, but it was worth it. When AAA came out there was this awesome relief fallowed by an outburst of excitement. They were so amazing, to say the least and they’re dance moves where incomparable. After the concert, Futch, Nicely and I and around desperately looking for the AAA autograph line, but it was no where to be found. It seemed the more we look the more hopeless or quest became. That is, until finally, Rini and her father came the rescue and showed the AAA merchandise line. As Futch and I waited in the line, we created a dance that we would show to AAA when we met them. Then, from the depths of the crowd, Rini’s Dad came up to us with an Otakon schedule and whispered to me “Wanna see what AAA autographs looks like? ”. And as I am typing this to you now, I was STUNNED to see AAA actually signed it. “How did you do it!?” I screamed. It seemed impossible. The line was so long and he hadn’t even been waiting it in. HE gestured for us to fallow. We circled around the huge wade of fans and saw a same line to the side. That was the actual line to see AAA. The other was only to buy their merchandise. I stood in line with Rini and Futch, ravaging my back pack for something, anything, for them to sign. I came upon my Otakon shirt that I had bought earlier that day. Futch had his brochure and Rini had her CD’s. I went up to Naoya and looked at his necklace. I said slowly “Your necklace is *points* Ballin ^^b” he repeated the word to Takahiro and back to me and gave me a huge smile that made me want to cuddle him. I also got to compliment Mitsuhiro on his beautiful hair and he said thank you. After we got everything signed went returned to the merchandise line to get what was left of the goods. There we met a man named Josh, who was slammin. We should him our dance and he said he would love to dance with us. The more the merrier, Futch and I thought. Minutes lagged on for what seemed forever, but we kept sanity by signing and dancing with our new friend. Then we started to hear screams and squeals from the front of the line. Josh told us to fallow and ran around to the left. Futch and I frozen in our spot, we didn’t know whether to fallow or not (good thing we didn’t). Suddenly, AAA began to walk past us. I screamed at the top of my lungs “TU-RI-PU-RA A~!! DANSU DANSU 4 YUU xD” I swear to god in heaven the moment I screamed they froze dead in their tracks. Futch and I danced our dance, flawless and they applauded (including the fans and their manager), not only did they love it, Shuta walked over to us and gave us a high five. It was magical x3.
The next day, Futch, Rini, and I rose, bright and early, for the AAA Q’n’A. On our way to the line we stopped at the picture center and got our photographs done (they put Rini’s and mine on the billboard outside the door ^o^). In line, I met this amazing girl who had seen 12012, and was licked by the bassist of Despairs Ray. I was in awe as her stories of perusing Jrockers kept coming. When the doors opened, we poured in filling every row. After a long wait AAA entered the questioning commenced. I couldn’t really focus on what people were asking. I was too busy trying to get the attention of the woman with the mic. She finally gave it to me (after passing me and Futch over a zillion times >< wink . Before, I had my question al planned out, but as I stood, my face flushed and my lip quivered. Their attention was on me o-o;;. “H-Hello Tu-ri-pu-ra A ~waves~. Yesterday, did you enjoy our dansu dansu 4 yuu?” They looked at me puzzled and then I did a move from our routine and they all gasped in remembrance and we got applause. The two questions that they answered that I thought were the most memorable was “What is your favorite food?” Which, Naoya responded with a passionate “BEEF” and Shuta “CHIK’KAN” (both in deep husky voices). They were also asked , What was their favorite American word, and Naoya said “Ballin x3”. I know he got it from me, because it was only yesterday at the autograph session, when I told him that his necklace was ballin ^^. We had many other fond adventures at Otakon this year. Between Jimmy, being a famous Sora. Rini, kicking all the Tifa’s butts, and Futch and I, dancing all around the dealers room. This year was, by far, the best Otakon, eva~!
